Affinity Lightroom when ?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the same boat here, can't use Affinity Photo without some way of managing all my photos, No DAM program can read afphoto files other than Affinity there for I'm stuck with Lightroom and Photoshop until then.

@v_kyr You are so mean. :D

Why? - Appropriate tools and the OS can make use of the Affinity Quickview implementation in order to show up thumbs or the embedded JPG preview from their aphoto etc. file format. Other than that third party tools just need to associate the file extensions then with the coresponding Affinity apps or offer an open with external program.

Further I doubt that Affinity would be able to make a better cross platform tool than Lightroom, CaptureOne or (Aperture) already are/(were).

I liked your style to prove that quoted statement wrong just with one screenshot. :)

Of course, but this is not new. We have hundreds of those DAM/lightroom suggestion threads.

They have a plan to release DAM in 2021.

Any source for this declaration?

Refer end of the article. There's mention about DAM and plugin SDK.
https://www.printweek.com/print-week/feature/1166103/britain-would-be-poorer-sans-serif
(actually it was 2020 but I supposed it will be postponed since the release of Publisher was delayed.)

Also John Atkin mentioned this recently.
