AP 1.7.3 crashes during tiff export creation

Awww. here a screenvideo for documentation. Can only supply a video because ap don’t creates a crashreport for that. IMG_0068.MP4
  2. I tried to export a finished file with 6 layers in 2 groups as 16 bit tiff file with affinity layers on my iPad running iPadOS 13.1.2 . Each try ended in closing AP without error report creation. I reported this issue already during betatesting. It’s really frustrating to report and report and see nothing happen.
  3. i am working with the newest iPad Pro 12.9 and affinity photo 1.7.2 and I haven't got any problems so far. keeping the filesize to original file size of the Fotos so about 30x45 cm. Even runs smoothly with up to 10 layers. How large are you fotos?
  4. Not Yet! I tried pixave once and maybe will try it again.
  5. Hi! I am wondering if there would be a nice DAM on Mac/Ipad that could handle the afphoto files. Does someone has any idea about this?

    RC2 lagging like hell

The new RC is extremely laggy as soon as you have more than two layers. Dreingabe, enlarging, moving has several Second Delay what Maikes it Alain Almost unuseable.
  7. I just mentioned a very strange behavior of the newly released 1.7.2 Version. The more layers I added it became more and more laggy. I haven't had this behavior on the last RC Version. So what have you done to slow down AP in release again.
  8. But I will give you some Information for bug testing as you listet in Bug Reporting. 1) I updated to the newest release version from version 1.7.1 2) It was reproducible until deinstalling updated version and reinstalling 1.7.2 from apple App Store. 3) It was happening on a new document after doing frequency separation. with each newly added layer it slowed down more and more 4) Operation System: iPadOS 13 Beta 5 After opening developing the 4000x6000 pixel raw file and applying frequency separation AP slowed down more and more with each additional added layer. I have had expected that this would not happen because in the last RC it didn't happen. And after deleting AP and reinstalling AP 1.7.2 from App Store the problem didn't showed up again. I hope this helps to evaluate the problem.
  9. Hi GabrielM! I am not realy sure that it is a bug. It only happened after I did the Softwareupdate from the previous version 1.7.1 to the actual 1.7.2 version. As I added after deleting the app and reinstalling it completely from App Store this didn't showed up again.
  10. Just expirienced 2 crahes reproduceable White Setting Update Export for tiff File. 1. dokumentmenu — Export 2. Set tiff 16bit 3. set Save ap layers 4. starten to entre a new Name during that Ap crashed without producing and Report
  11. found the problem already. it was a glitched happened by update from 1.7.1 to 1.7.2. After destalling and reinstalling form apple store all is working fine now. I haven't tested if TIFF export with affinity layers would work too.

    AP 1.7.2.149 Crashs during exportdialog

I am sorry to post into this topic again. But obviously it haven't helped to log this with your developers. I have just tried it with the new 1.7.2 release and it crashed again after some minutes trying to create an Tiff (16bit RGB) export. It starts to be frustrating to report this issue again and again and do see any changes or even to don't see it solved.

My first Test of the new RC of AP was very pleasing. Workflow is running very smoothly even within Groups an with a huge amount of layers. Very nice job! Well done!

    [Duplicate]AP Gold Master

Hi Gabriel! I did the complete beauty retouching like listed in the AP Workbook. 1. komplete RAW Development 2. Frequency Separation with Layer Grouping and rep. brush 3. new pixel-layer skin tone with color brush and gausch blur 4. new pixel layer for lights recovering with color brush 5. dodge/burn layer with 50% gray filling and dodge/burn with dodge/burn brushes 6. duplicated details layer set to 25% 7. new pixel layer filled with 50% gray and with 25% noise within new group 8. new pixel layer for new lipp color and Gaus blur 9. new pixel layer for eye makeup and also with gaus blur 10. new pixel layer for eye brows with gaus blur 11. new pixel layer for eye optimization with gaus blur than taking visible together to one combine layer for sharpening (masking) one new layer for lights correction, midtown correction and shadows correction when finished resize picture to 40x60 cm and than documents --> export --> tiff 16 Bit (16 bit RGB) with LZW or ZIP compression. The issue should already be mapped with the dev team with an sample picture with layers in an other post to this topic. I have reported this already for the previous Release candidate but it didn't got done yet it seems. Here the link to the other post: where you replied to have it logged to the Devteam Gabriel. Sorrily it seems that they haven't corrected this issue yet.

    [Duplicate]AP Gold Master

AP crashed again during creating tiff 16 bit Export with LZW compression Trying to export a huge file with a lot of layers to tiff with layers also still crashes with zip compression. Please correct this before releasing it.
  17. I just mentioned that the Size of the exported picture uses as PSD only the half size of the resulting TIFF file. There wasn't changed anything so same picture (40x60cm, 2 layers). As Tiff file it would have up too 700 MB and as PSD it only takes about 350 to 370 MB. Is there any explanation why this is so???
  18. Well i eddited the picture in c1 and exported it as unkompressed 16 bit tiff to AP. There i added one layer for inpainting. As i tried to export with both layers PSD Size 350 MB and TIFF about 700.
  19. you also could use a apples Own DAM, the Fotos app.
  20. Yeah I read it. the other thing is that AP needs more and more RAM the more huge layers with a lot of information you add and keep visible. And when memory runs low AP starts to move to and get from disk what slows down. I found today a lil bit of workaround for this problem When finished one adjustment layer merge visible layers and only keep the combined layer as huge active layer. that reduces the memory fingerprint and speeds AP up.
  21. AP 1.7.2 crashes After duing Tonevalue correction during ging back to overview. Photo iPad-2019-08-04-093106.ips.beta
  22. Wehen tranig to change the document size with dokumentmenu size AP First Freezes and Theo crashes with total loss of last Changes. Photo iPad-2019-08-04-091653.ips.beta
  23. Hopefully you will also get the Saving/Exporting problem in the next build to go. Saving an unsaved picture with a lot of layers, 9 within group and 3 out of group, (4000 x 6000 px) causes AP on iPad to freeze and if you restart AP you no longer can open the picture or save it. And when you try to export it as tiff 16 bit with layers AP crashes after 2 to 4 minutes of trying to create the export.

    RC2 lagging like hell

When you want to save an unsaved document with large size an many layers AP freezes while needing endless during saving and if you restart it you can’t load the picture and tryinto restart saving Leads to an crash of AP. It makes no sense if you can’t save your work. So please please correct this before releasing it

    RC2 lagging like hell

Kam totally on your side frank. The more lasers I am edging into the group the slower is AP reacting. So it might be a problem with the groups. Will try next time how it will be without groups. I’m usually working with pictures in the size of 4000x6000 pixel.
