available to pre-order now with a 20% discount

So Ash did not tell the whole story/truth? A pre-order is not the same like a pre-order?

Don't selectively quote me. Everything Ash said is true. Everything I said is true.

Before launch its not available to pre-order from the Mac App Store (or Microsoft Store) sorry, but is available right now from the Affinity Store.

When we launch Affinity Publisher on the 19th June, the current public "20% sale on everything" will be extended for a bit to include Affinity Publisher from all stores. So you can either choose to stick with the Mac App Store (buy after launch) or (as a beta tester) benefit from a slightly better offer by getting the 30% Affinity Store pre-order. Non beta testers are currently offered the pre-order at a 20% discount.

Hope that is clear.

But how does the Affinity Store know that a beta tester is/was a beta tester?

it does not. The pre-launch buy links available to beta testers are not the generic pre-launch buy links Ash refers to

The pre-launch buy links available to beta testers (30% off) are not the generic pre-launch buy links Ash refers to (20% off). Why is this bothering you so much?

I have moved these posts as the conversation is not relevant to the launch event post it started in

Beta testers (like us) were not informed. Could be that some beta testers behave according to the communication of Serif.

All Affinity Publisher beta people like you who added the beta to an affinity store account would have been sent an email 3 weeks ago from affinity@serif.com UNLESS they unsubscribed from email communications.

All beta testers (whether unsubscribed or not) who run the Affinity Publisher beta (even today) have a link in the welcome screen right now that is a link that offers the 30% discount.

If they still use it. (the welcome screen and the internet). There is good and bad PR. For example, the minimum requirements and differences to the MAS version are not mentioned.

Lion and Mountain Lion are not supported operating systems on any store, they just happen to work on the MAS and we will keep them going as long as we can.

If you want the 10% off install the beta. I have been open an honest and you are still picking holes in things we have no control over.

Sorry, but perhaps simply a misunderstanding. Could be that some beta users got the 20% not the 30%, then read that others got 30% and are not amused … just because Serif did not inform all beta users (some that only tested at the beginning, some that don’t use the welcome screen, …). For example in the OP of “Affinity Publisher to be launched at Affinity Live”. Simply this. Not about Oval but about other users.
