GrahamMYC
The new Darken/Reveal option on the Crop tool does not seem to work in Windows; or I have not understood it. There is no tutorial that I have found that explains the new functionality which appears to be very useful.

Area of image outside crop area is a bit darker, helping to highlight the area you will be keeping. I can't find what Reveal does. I had thought it might, when expanding the crop area, reveal previously cropped areas, but no joy here. According to the Help: Quote Reveal—when checked, displays areas of the document outside of the current crop. Useful if you have already cropped the canvas and need to expand it again AiDon 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. GrahamMYC
The fault with reveal appears to have persisted into AP 1.7 Here is a video demonstrating what happens. carl123
It's working in the 1.7 beta but not the currently released product Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Mr Grump
I am quite a noob at AP so I am quite proud that I think I can recover my cropped picture. Although Darken/Reveal does not appear in the context menu I decided to fiddle around (I think it's call investigative exploration). After cropping and saving a photo I dragged the edges of the image out producing a blank grey edge extending from it. I selected apply and lo and behold the original image was re-cropped to a new image. Hope this helps.
