specworkfan Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I sketched in pixel persona, but everything is vector here. The only annoyance was the text, Affinity auto smooths too much. So I did the writing in pixel persona, and then traced the shape manually. Both works took about 3 days, if it were Illustrator, it would be 7. Vector still takes me at least twice as long, but before Affinity, I wouldn't attempt doing anything vector unless it had to be scaled up big. Now it is a breeze. Jobalou Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Wow!All illustrations are extraordinary, but I like especially the "Amsterdam image" with the meticulous work of the basket and the lace dress.Very nice work. specworkfan 1 Quote

specworkfan Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 Thank you all for comments. :-) The lace is something that really stands out with vector. It would be much harder in raster to get the geometry right. These are for phone cases, so I need to be able to port them and change things slightly. I kind of think this Dutch one could be nice for poster or brand. The green in white is subconsciously Heineken. I just realized that. In this series I am focusing on the tourist cliches that sell, so I got it more right than I thought. :-) Wow!All illustrations are extraordinary, but I like especially the "Amsterdam image" with the meticulous work of the basket and the lace dress.Very nice work. ronnyb Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I think the green color is perfectly appropriate for Amsterdam, and not because of Heineken...... Thank you all for comments. :-) The lace is something that really stands out with vector.
