rogershuff
Just installed this update. Opened a docuument that was created in the previous version (less than an hour before I updated) and it has lost the text formatting amongst other things on half the document (first two pages OK, pages 3 and 4 wrecked). Staff AdamW Posted November 8, 2018 Staff Share Posted November 8, 2018 It looks like your styles have got mixed up and all of the text with your 'Body' style has a decoration applied - looks like the default 'Box' style, for what its worth. Is there any chance of getting your document?
rogershuff
The file is at work - I'll get it to you tomorrow - is there a direct route to do this or shall I attach to a message? Nothing private in the file. Roger Shufflebottom www.avid-companion.co.uk

rogershuff
Will do. I think what's happened is that I changed a number of text style presets to suit my work and the update overwrote them. Not sure why the styles were OK in part of the document but not others. File follows later. Roger Shufflebottom www.avid-companion.co.uk

JFisher
Hi rogershuff, I have opened your file in the 2 previous builds and the file looks the same (with added decoration to the text frame) in each build. I've not seen any other posts with the same issue yet so this has a few of us in the office curious! Have you imported any text styles at all? rogershuff
No - I set up some text styles from scratch to match those I use in InDesign. Having duplicated the file and re-applied the styles, things seemed OK. I'll report any future oddities. Thanks for your input. Roger terry
I have tried to get consistent line above text for footnotes without success and now find that all new text boxes start and continue to be indented. I reverted to a previous file saved 12 hours prior and find the same problem, all new text boxes are indented about 2mm.

Instead, you should define a character or paragraph style, and apply that to the footnote text. That should leave the Text Frame default alone. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.
Roger terry
You are correct, thanks. But still the problem with decoration of a line about text in paragraph. The line length seems to choose its own value no matter what is put in. Roger
Roger terry
I have just realised that the 2mm value was picked up from a 2mm value added to a table cell. So table cell and text box are using the same values.
