daerob
It appears that Publisher does not support opening any type of text document other than .pdf. I sincerely hope that this will be addressed as it would be a shame to give up a great program like Pageplus for this. David
Staff Patrick Connor Posted October 5, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 5, 2018 @daerob Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums In the Text menu you can currently also insert .txt and .rtf files. You can open or insert .PDF files and we are working towards opening/inserting .docx and .idml formats. vonBusing 1 Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! Fixx
I wish place command would be used also for text (rtf, docx) documents. There is really no need to have separate commands for text and graphics.
PaulEC
If I import a RTF file (exported from LibreOffice) into PagePlus X9 it retains the Text Styles. (They look different, but retain the style "Heading 1" etc.) However, if I import the same file into Affinity Publisher it doesn't. All the headings show as "no style". Am I missing something, or do I have to go through the whole document to set the various styles again? Wosven
To keep your styles, you can copy and paste the text directly from LibreOffice to APub.
PaulEC
Thank's for the reply, but I still seem to loose the Heading styles. I think I must be doing something wrong in LibreOffice! Feel free to post a sample .odt document that illustrates the problem, and perhaps one of us can confirm that it exists or explain how to avoid it.
