Peter Werner
The Spacing bar crashes into the Paragraph Style dropdown. There are also numerous minor problems like the alignment buttons an the style dropdown being slightly different widths and the right edge of the "Use space before" popup not aligning exactly with the spinners above. The Character panel has a few of these minor inaccuracies in the top (main) section as well. Moreover, in the "Positioning and Transform" section, the Shear input crashes into the one below and they inputs are generally not spaced equally. Sorry if these are still work in progress, thought I'd report this just in case it somehow slipped through internal testing. www.peterwerner.net
rjvela82
I'm also seeing inconsistencies in panels with accordions, there is no small gap between the panel tab and the first accordion which makes it look wierd. I believe the Pages panel has it correctly but not these 3 I am posting below ut. I checked all other panels, its only these 3... A_B_C
Some of these little issues have been “work in progress” for quite a while … https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/43177-affinity-designer-customer-beta-16-beta-21/&page=2&tab=comments#comment-216237 But seriously, there has been a lot of improvement in this area, and I believe these little inconsistencies will be sorted out as well. R C-R
FWIW, these spacing inconsistencies disappear if the Studio panels are dragged out so they 'float,' even if one or two panels are grouped together in the same tabbed 'floater.' I think it may be that when there are lots of panels in the same tab group, they deliberately crunch some of their items together to make the most use of the available space ... or not. It seems that for me on different launches or after various document changes have been made I get different results for a lot of things, sometimes including some of the spacing inconsistencies. I also get random crashes from time to time, including when the app has no document open & is hidden. There are quite few things that work as expected only the first time I try them but not after that, or work sometimes but not others, which makes it very hard to pin down a specific cause or a sequence of steps that triggers the behavior. It is almost like an old quip about a bad movie: the beta wasn't released -- it escaped.
