GarryP Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Welcome to the forums @Hknb An alternative method to the technique above, using Rounded Rectangles and the Shape Builder Tool, is shown in my attached video. 2024-03-06 08-33-32.mp4 Oufti and henryanthony 2 Quote
Alfred Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Here’s another way: 1. Create a 3 × 2 rounded rectangle: 2. Position three 1 × 1 rounded rectangles on top: 3. Select the top and bottom small shapes (which for convenience I’ll refer to as a group here, but they don’t actually have to be grouped). 4. Increase the height of the group so that the rounded corners are beyond the edges of the larger rectangle: 5. Select all three small shapes. 6. Increase the width of the group so that the rounded corners are beyond the edges of the larger rectangle: 7. Select all four shapes and choose ‘Layer > Geometry > Subtract’: 8. Choose the Corner Tool and select the nodes at the six corners that are currently sharp: 9. Use the Corner Tool to round the corners as little or as much as you like: 10. G13RL Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 You can also use the "Contour Tool": draw three slightly overlapping squares at the corners that need to be connected, make a compound and then use the "Contour Tool" to move it from the outside inwards to achieve the desired effect. bbrother 1 Quote
