Font size? https://affinity.help/designer2/English.lproj/pages/Tools/tools_frameText.html The question seems to be about the size of the font used in File Explorer. @SusieP: welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. I'm not sure that's under the control of the Affinity application. Do you have the same problem with other File Explorer windows? SusieP
no, it is perfectly fine in other applications
PaulEC
Just to be clear, are you saying that the text in the File Explorer window is smaller if you open it when you are using Affinity Photo than it is when you are using other apps? If so, would it be possible to attach a couple of full screen grabs showing this? SusieP
that is exactly what I'm saying only it is in Affinity Designer. You will be my hero if you can figure this out. I'm including 2 screenshots. One is when it is opened in affinity designer, the other is a direct opening off the desktop. Obvious difference
v_kyr
See related ... windows ui text size site:forum.affinity.serif.com ... try to use the global Windows Display ui settings therefor. PaulEC
To be honest, the first screen grab looks like it's more or less full screen, but the second one looks like it's just the File Explorer window, not full screen. As v_kyr says, you can change the global text size in Windows, but I can't see how this could affect some windows and not others. walt.farrell
Thanks for the screenshots @SusieP. I think you gave us: a screenshot from Designer using File > Open; and a screenshot of File Explorer, opened as an application. Can you give us one for File > Open (Ctrl+O) from another application (not one of the Affinity ones)? Perhaps from Notepad, or Firefox, or Chrome? Staff Dan C Posted February 12 Staff Share Posted February 12 Hi @SusieP, Welcome to the Affinity Forums & sorry to see you're having trouble! I can confirm that the Affinity apps use the native Windows Explorer file picker to display this dialog, meaning the scaling of this is controlled by Windows. Do you have multiple monitors connected to your system, and if so are these different resolutions/scaling %, set in Windows Display settings? For example, if you open Affinity on one monitor, then move the app window to a different monitor at a different resolution and open the Save As dialog, the dialog will use the scaling values from the original monitor the app was opened on. As this is controlled by Windows, Microsoft have written the below article with suggestions to try when similar Explorer issues occur - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/windows-scaling-issues-for-high-dpi-devices-508483cd-7c59-0d08-12b0-960b99aa347d I'd recommend trying the different High DPI Scaling Override settings, as outlined in the above article, to see if this resolves the issue on your machine. I hope this helps Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! SusieP
Thanks Dan C, I think that helps. I changed monitors and it worked well. I will stay with that monitor. Haven't had that problem any where else Dan C
