Thanks @thomaso I actually did search for it in Help and assumed it would have returned based on my search criteria but, alas, I needed Help with Help.🤣 -

@NotMyFault If you please, I don't understand what you mean by "erase white paper". I am using Photo V1. Could this be a PV2 feature? Thanks! -

@h_d Allright, Took me a bit of doing but finally figured out your methods. WORKS GREAT!!!!!!! Thank you for preparing such detailed instructions. I really appreciate the time it took you to prepare your tutorial. This will save me hours and hours of time. Sample provided could still use a few hand done tweaks. Thank you!!!!!!! -

Thank you for all the advice. Might take a few days for me to work through all the information and report on progress. 😊 -
Flood fill tool
henryanthony replied to henryanthony's topic in Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
So, let me pose the question in a slightly different manner. Here is an image that I am working with. One among over 50. Image background is almost 100% white. Using the Fill Flood tool, I can select with good precision the white background and change the color. A little more manual work takes care of the smaller details within the image that Fill Flood missed. I am trying to determine a workflow to, ideally, create an alpha channel from the white background in order to manipulate the background at will. My question to the forum is: How would you approach this? Not looking for an exact answer, but maybe some new ideas or directions. Thanks! -
Hi, I am working with images of flowers and need to change the background color which is white. These are very complex images with lots of stems, leaves and thread like elements. I have been using the Flood Fill tool which is doing a great job to change the background. However, I want to change the background to a gradient background in some cases and am wondering if I can save the Flood Fill changes to an Alpha channel and swap the backgrounds at will. This question refers to Photo version 1. Thanks!

AI generative Fill in Affinity
henryanthony replied to WMax70's topic in Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
@adissu Serif will not have to seriously consider AI. CANVA, which owns Serif now also owns Leonardo ai which, IMHO is a well capable AI for imaging platform. I believe your comparison to DOS or 3.1 is way under rated but that's my opinion and I won't argue that point. I've worked with publishing, design and illustration software since the beginning and I see AI as a huge disrupter to well established work flows in the design, engineering and other industries. There were a lot of people that thought Adobe and Quark was going to ruin the industry. I guess we all know how that turned out. That being said, I don't see myself retiring Affinity Photo and Design anytime soon.- 631 replies

AI generative Fill in Affinity
henryanthony replied to WMax70's topic in Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
@KESagun I've been experimenting with AI for a couple of months now using Bing, Night Cafe, and Leonardo, which is owned by Canva, and I am finding AI for imaging to be an amazing tool for illustration. Not a good tool for page design and layout and technical/vector illustration. I am my only client so, I can do what I want but I still need my Affinity apps, mainly Photo. With Canva owning Leonardo, I am surprised there is so little mention of it on this forum even though the topic is kind of banned. And, there is a lot that can be done that does not include the issue of using already copyright images. As far as being easier, there is nothing easy about it or, you might say it can be as easy or difficult as you make it. Prompt writing is kind of like a black art with a bit of magic thrown in. To close, AI is a cresting wave, back lit by a beautiful sunset, illuminating billowing clouds in complementary colors. You can either ride it or be swallowed by it. Your choice.- 631 replies

This just in from Bloomberg: The owner of the shuttered Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania will invest $1.6 billion to revive it, agreeing to sell all the output to Microsoft Corp. as the tech titan seeks carbon-free electricity for data centers to power the artificial intelligence boom.

This is a good example of illustrating the ages old question “When does an artist consider a work of art to be done”. Only the artist can answer that. IMHO.

@Ldina I don't know how to make this better but, I will recommend you just keep doing what you are doing. Great work!

@Ldina Just FYI, the tutorials show how to easily render quick, low res images and then change two numbers for high res final renders. -
affinity designer Would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?
henryanthony replied to Ldina's topic in Share your work
@Ldina Blender IS daunting! But, if you learn it in logical chunks, it's not that hard. The tutorial that laid the foundation for me is Blender Tutorial For Complete Beginners. This is a pretty famous tutorial series by "Blender Guru" that provides you the knowledge to get going in Blender. Do each tutorial until you understand it. Then look for other tutorials by Blender Guru and Ryan King Art. These two guys are very well spoken and they don't spend any time on stupid music and dumb comments like so many YouTube tutors. Make sure to read the comments. They point out some problems with the tutorials and are helpful to overall understanding. Good luck should you undertake this journey. -
There is quite a bit written about the usage of TIL, TILL, or UNTIL and LETS or LET'S. I would leave it go as is.

For me, I refer to what Andy Warhol said: “Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”- 631 replies

affinity photo Evening Mist - Concept Art in Affinity Photo
henryanthony replied to DelN's topic in Share your work
Thanks Del! Now if I can just create a duplicate of me, I will have time for this new software. Funny thing is, I have been playing around with pink and other pastel colors and have been using the Barbie movie as a reference. When I saw the image you created I thought to myself, "Barbie" and then read you had mentioned this further down in your post. It made me laugh!- 4 replies
