Hi @Grotesker,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

Can you please confirm for me, what happens when trying to export this file to PDF? Are you seeing an error message appear, does the app crash whilst exporting, or does the export simply not complete?

Can you please also provide a copy of your document which is failing to export to PDF, alongside a screenshot of your PDF export settings here for me?

If you'd like a private upload link for your file - please don't hesitate to ask.

Many thanks in advance :)

My problems have been (since this upgrade) having to save and reboot in order to see text frames, text ruler, and several other items.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend creating a new, separate thread to investigate the issues you've mentioned here, as it's not related to OPs thread.

Hi, i am having the same issue here on a Mac Mini M1. I updated to 2.2 and I am unable to export anything but a blank page in Publisher.

I need to export the final art to print, it is very urgent and I am stuck. I have tried to copy and past to a new project, create a new project from scratch and nothing works.

I really need a solution quick, i attach the file in question

Thank you.

I can't tell but the file said to not be found although it clearly was there.
If a (corrupted) file isn't working there's an approach that may work.
Create a new document and in the pages panel>rightclick>add pages form file and point to your file, this may import the file just fine but doesn't always work.
But glad to hear it worked here and you can go on.

Welcome to the Affinity Forums @Daniel Azpíroz & thanks for providing your file!

I've tried exporting this to PDF on Windows using the PDF (for export) preset and this has worked as expected for me.

However, trying to export the document on macOS, my colleague is seeing an error based on ICC colour profiles, although the exact reason isn't exactly clear.

It appears as though changing your document profile from the 'Euroscale Coated v2' profile to a different profile, such as the US Web Coated SWOP profile allows this file to export to PDF correctly.

Return's file provided above is now using this profile after following the 'Add Pages from File' method, hence the export is working for this 'fixed' file also.

I'm not sure if this is due to a combination of the 'Euroscale Coated V2' profile and the 'Dell' monitor colour profiles assigned to all of your placed images -

If possible, I'd recommend changing your document profile and exporting to PDF once again - in the meantime I'm getting this logged with our team for further investigation.

I hope this helps :)

Hi @Daniel Azpíroz,

I had no problems exporting using the Euroscale Coated v2 profile with any of the pdf presets on macOS, all export without issue for me...

The only thing I did notice is that the Tesa Logo shows a '0' as the Original dpi but having said that it's not preventing me from exporting the file...

Could you confirm which version of macOS you are running?

Encountered the Error-message several times in 2.2. Tried the same file with 2.1 on my laptop and everything went fine. When I experimented with the pdf settings in 2.2, I found that PDF/X compatibility resulted in an error, and below that things were OK. In 2.1 I could export an PDF/X pdf with no problem.

Hi @Grotesker,

I likewise had no issues exporting your file to pdf but I did notice in your file as well that the 'making music' logo shows the Original dpi as '0'... The only other thing it has in common with @Daniel Azpíroz's file is the use of the Euroscale Coated v2 colour profile but that may be just a coincidence.

I don't think either is necessarily the cause of the pdf export failure but it seems odd that others are able to export without issue. Could you confirm which version of macOS you're running?

Could you confirm which OS and OS version you are running and whether your document also uses the Euroscale Coated v2 colour profile or a different profile? Out of interest do any files shown in Resource Manager show an Original dpi of zero, as shown in the screenshot above?

Are you able to share the file so we can take a look?

You are right: I tried all profiles with PDF/X and all went well – except the Euroscale and Document profile. In 2.1 (same document) both are OK.

Hi @basholtzer,

Thanks for confirming, Euroscale Coated v2 certainly appears to be a common denominator with all three reported cases.

Could you confirm which OS and OS version and which Affinity App you're seeing the problem with?

Thanks I'll look at that. Are you able to open 2.2 in 2.2.x then?

OS 3.5.2 all up-to-date but will look at the making music logo... thank you

Hi @Grotesker,

Out of interest, if you open your Publisher file in Designer 2.2.0 (if you have) and attempt to export to pdf as before, do you still see the same error?

I'm on a Mac Studio Ventura 13.5 and MacBookPro Intel with Ventura 13.4. I only tried Publisher: 2.2 on the Studio and 2.1 on the laptop.

Hi @basholtzer,

Thanks for trying and for confirming...

It appears as though the other factor at play here is Ventura. I'm having no issues exporting any of the files (I've obviously not been able to try yours as yet) when using Euroscale Coated v2 on Monterey and the files appear to export without issue on Windows so I'm leaning towards an issue with the 2.2 update and Ventura when using this particular profile.

It's entirely up to you but I'm happy to see if I can export your file or even just a single page from your file to see if I experience any issues exporting on Monterey. If you'd prefer, you can request a private Dropbox link and @Dan C from Serif will be able to provide one for you so he can take a look.
