Develop Persona problem in 2.2.beta

I have loaded the beta version (2.2.0.1881) and the Develop Persona reacts incorrectly and not at all logically. Entries can be changed even though the item is not active, lights and shadows do not react at all ...

Of course I had reset the Application before I started the new version.

What I am seeing is that now by default some things are Checked and Inactive. Meaning that I open a raw file and the B&W section is checked, but inactive. If I toggle off and on it is active. I am seeing this sort of thing with many of the sections being checked but utterly inactive.

But, and this is important. I can no longer save working Presets. I like to have a certain base amount of sharpening and noise reduction applied to all my raw images. I have a Preset for that, I cannot get a preset to save the settings and or apply them when I choose the preset.

Thanks for the further info, our developers are aware of this issue and are working to hopefully resolve this in the next beta version.

In my testing, I have found that after creating and saving a preset, then closing and reopening the RAW file and applying the preset that the changes are applied, however the sliders do not match the preset itself. For example I created a preset that applies 100% Radius & Amount 'Detail Refinement', when applying this preset the sliders remain 'unticked', however visually the RAW file has the sharpness applied.

Is this the same behaviour you are seeing please?

With all due respect hopefully is not enough. This is a critical failure. I do not want to be continually second guessing as to whether or not a preset has been applied.

I think so.

What my problem is is that I can not rely on using a Preset as a starting point. As an example I show you how I set up a Tones preset, I only want Curves applied so I have unchecked the Black & White and Split Toning.

Opening a new raw image I see this with the Default chosen.

All well and good as far as the Curves values, there appears to be no change. But there is no Black & White applied, the Split Toning being checked but having 0% hues applied may be applied or not, I cannot tell. Regardless I don't want to apply these settings so I choose my Trash preset to be applied and this is what I see.

Still no Black & White being applied and I do not know for sure if the unwanted and unsaved Split Toning is being applied. But my unchecked and therefore not viewable Curves is being applied.

My apologies, this is perhaps poorly worded.
This issue is of course high priority with our development team and the 'hopefully' was referring to the fix being a part of the next available public beta, rather than 'hopefully this will be fixed before 2.2 is released'. I simply didn't wish to promise that it definitely would be resolved as part of the next beta update, before the bug has been resolved and tested internally as this is simply out of my control.

As with any beta version issues can occur during the development cycle and we're working to resolve this ASAP, hence we do not recommend using these beta versions for production work.

Thanks for confirming that for me, I certainly understand and I have ensured that this Preset issue is clearly logged with both the development and QA team, in order to ensure this is fully re-tested once the fix has been submitted internally

I have the same issue. the Shadows & Highlights box is ticked when the file is opened but will not work. Unticking then reticking the Shadows & Highlights box it becomes active.

The issue "Auto enabled sliders in Develop Persona don't function until reenabled, unticked Enhance sliders work without being enabled" (REF: AFP-6278) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1903".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
