Transform

In AD V1 if I wanted to reduce or enlarge an object proportionally I could use 'cmd + alt and drag a corner and it will transform proportionally all round. AD V2 doesn't do that - the same keys transform disproportionately.

Is there an SD V2 way of doing this? I looked at the Help page for Transforming but nothing about it.

Probably a reference to the Status bar at the bottom of the workspace window, A.K.A. the hint bar.

On Windows it's just Shift. Are you sure it was Cmd+Alt on Mac?

Doesn't that depend on what is set in Preferences > Tools for Move Tool Aspect Constrain? There are 3 choices but all of them can be reversed by using the Shift key and/or the CMD key to resize around the center.

But regardless, Alt does not have any effect on that, & never has AFAIK.

It depends only in the sense that you may or may not need to use Shift to constrain or to not constrain. But it's always just Shift for constraining or not constraining.

The status Bar is the small strip at the bottom of the Affinity window that gives hints to extended states, such as, modifier keys that change how the tool you are using behaves.

The modifier key hints will change the status of the tool when pressed and held while using the tool, hence "Status Bar".

If the method described in the Help is too complicated for you, please give feedback to Serif so that he can try to make it even simpler.

Hardly. Here in V1 'cmd +alt' resizes from the centre + disables snapping.

For the aspect ratio only 'shift' is relevant, while its result depends on
a.) your app preferences and
b.) the object type.
So 'shift' can cause maintaining the ratio but also avoiding it.
