Old Bruce Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 To the best of my knowledge, and for whatever reason, Apple has no way to import vectors into its Motion Application. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
firstdefence Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 I think the way to do it is either an AI file or PDF but the results can be a bit clumsy and it may take a bit of trial and error to get vectors into Motion correctly. Screenshot of Apples Motion app, the instagram icon was exported from Affinity Designer v2 as a PDF for export, under the more settings I unchecked rasterise: and set it to Nothing. nomi02118 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... BBG3 Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 I got Apple Motion, too. And my friend and I need to export our vector design into Apple Motion. I know Pixelmator Pro can export Apple Motion files, but I work with Affinity Designer. I hope this feature comes to Affinity Designer very soon. nomi02118 1 Quote Affinity Designer | Affinity Photo | Affinity Publisher V2.6.2 ▪️ Mac: 2021 M1 MacBook Pro 16", 32GB memory, macOS Sequoia 15.4 ▪️ iPad: iPad Pro, 12.9": iPadOS 16.7.10, Apple Pencil 1

I know Apple Motion isn't a big app for many people but it IS a viable alternative to After Effects and having Designer save to Motion project as Pixelmator does would be amazing and really improve my workflow. jodywhitesides Posted January 21 Posted January 21 As someone that is attempting to take about 40 pieces created in Designer 2 and import them into Motion, and having roughly about 100 more that I am planning to do in Designer 2, I would like to add yet another vote to be able to export to Motion format. Or at the very least, allow it to be an exportable file that would properly import into Motion - with text and other vector art. I'd really hate to make the switch to Pixelmator at this point after getting comfortable with Designer. But with a need to create animated cover art for music related things for Apple Music, it's a much needed workflow to be able to import vector files into Motion. Please make this happen ASAP. Thank you. Quote

wonderings Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Just saving as a PDF works for me. I just drag and drop where I want it to go and that is it. It is nice with Illustrator being able to use a native AI file in Motion, but not the end of the world to need to save as a PDF. Quote
