Affinity Suite: Reference fields Name ?

Hi, everybody,

Is there a place in Affinity Designer (same in Affinity Photo) where the Creator name of the file is stored as in Affinity Publisher? If so, how do you change it?

As far as I can tell you can't add it directly using Designer or APhoto

But you can round trip it (via Edit in Publisher) to add it to a Designer or APhoto document

If it has been added via the above method just Edit in Publisher and it will show up and you can change/delete it. Then back to (Edit in...) the original app and save the document

In AP-V2 the Meta Data seems broken, the info entered into the File, IPTC fields are lost once the app is saved and closed.

EDIT:

Further testing revealed the file must be saved using Save as for the info to stick. Just using Save does not preserve it.

In AP V2 on my Mac in all the metadata fields I can enter info into, nothing is lost when I save (not save as) the file & close it. Maybe this is a Window only issue?

Not an answer to your question but maybe worth knowing about for future reference. In both APub V1 & V2 on Macs, by default your full user account name will appear automatically in the Author field. Since you may not want this to be included for privacy reasons, you can change this in a non-obvious way:

With no document open, set the Author field to something else -- I use "me!" -- & that will become the new default.

Thanks, I didn't know that. It's odd that this isn't in Preferences instead.

Apologies, bit late to this one. I've no been able to replicate this on 2.0.4 on Windows, using the standard 'Save' on document close the IPTC fields I added info to retained the content. Is this an issue you can still replicate?

@NathanC,

The IPTC issues seems to be fixed. I've tested it on several images and it no longer strips/looses the entered data.
