herhey
This group Amernime Zone is creating Radeon modded drivers (WHQL Microsoft Certified) that increase performance on new and old card models. Maybe Affinity Devs can contact them to find a solution on the OpenCL performance issue. herhey
The AMD performance issue seems to be fixed or at least greatly improved with Version 2.1. debraspicher
@heyhey Benchmark versions are different, so can't be compared. All our numbers were lower for bench 20000, iirc. Though I think they did make some improvements.
DylanGG
Yeah, some improvement was made, but the team is doing more testing and AMD is active in helping as well. So I'm sure we'll continue to see more improvements as time goes on. Fingers crossed!

AMD emailed me again a few weeks ago asking if v2.1 fixed my issue, and Affinity reached out and is getting the same G14 laptop I'm using to do testing. I'm assuming they're working together because AMD wouldn't have known about the possible performance enhancement in 2.1 unless they spoke with the developers. Not terribly far off from my 3080 from previous benches. Patrick Trumpis
Hey, I'm curious about your Windows registry entries at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors Poor performance could be related to this.

The registry entry ...\OpenCL\Vendors does not exist for me. I assume you are using an AMD-based GPU? And the registry entry does not indicate how well or badly the OpenCL driver has been implemented. robar
Any updates about this improvement? I wonder if this also improves V1 performance. I have benchmark version 11021, and planning to upgrade my old nvidia GPU, trying to decide between nvidia vs amd. Is there anybody who could run it with AMD RX 5-7xxx series card? This is what I get with GTX970 and v11021 benchmark (Affinity Photo 1.10.6.1665): Raster (single gpu) 3623 Combined (single gpu) 4573
MikeTO
@thegary and @slizgi Could you please tell me which CPU you used for the benchmarks you posted in this thread? I'd like to add them to the benchmark table we're compiling over here. Thank you. slizgi 1 Quote Download a free manual for Publisher 2.4 from this forum - expanded 300-page PDF My system: Affinity 2.4.2 for macOS Sonoma 14.5, MacBook Pro 14" (M1 Pro)
