  1. Would love to have more options for Click + Drag - like adjusting the keybind to be more simple. Photoshops brush resize: Ctrl+click-drag (no need to use ALT) As @Returnsaid, more options / variables for Click + Drag would be great.
  2. Agreed. More keybind options that make the switch from Adobe easier would be great.
  3. +1! These would be great QOL updates. Are you running an AMD graphics card? The performance for AMD in Affinity is slow right now, but Serif is working with AMD to hopefully solve the issue. If you're using NVIDIA there shouldn't be an issue though. Make sure OpenCL is enabled in Settings > Performance.
  4. Hey @Dan C Thanks for the quick response and explanations! How to reproduce the bug, this is somehow connected with my other issue below: Mask Bounding Box Bug.mp4 Unfortunately, for my workflow the Empty Mask is still wonky. It doesn't affect the layer outside of the canvas. When compositing or fading a background (that's out of the canvas) it's really tedious to re-mask / re-fade the background every time it's moved. I think it would make more sense for the bounds of masks to be around the bounds of the image being masked rather than the canvas. (So whether the image is inside or outside of the canvas the image is always being masked.) I'm sure this would probably solve that bug above as well. Here's an example: Affinity VS Photoshop Masking Outside Canvas.mp4
  5. The bounding boxes for masks (the area allowed to paint inside) doesn't always increase / decrease automatically. Masking an image outside of an artboard bugs it out somehow. Here's a file showcasing the issue. I don't know how to replicate it entirely, but the whole right side won't mask at all in this example: Mask Issues.afphoto Also, masks don't affect outside of the artboard and I think it's a strange behavior. Especially for cutting out objects. It's a lot of extra work for no reason. We shouldn't need to Rasterize > Trim and lose the photos quality as a workaround.
  6. AMD emailed me again a few weeks ago asking if v2.1 fixed my issue, and Affinity reached out and is getting the same G14 laptop I'm using to do testing. I'm assuming they're working together because AMD wouldn't have known about the possible performance enhancement in 2.1 unless they spoke with the developers.
  7. I'm very surprised this wasn't fixed in the final release of v2.1 - any updates on this?
  8. Yeah, some improvement was made, but the team is doing more testing and AMD is active in helping as well. So I'm sure we'll continue to see more improvements as time goes on. Fingers crossed!
  9. Hi @Justin, I'm using an ASUS Zephyrus G14 (RX 6700S, R9 6900HS, 16GB RAM) I attached a test file. I'm measuring the smoothness of moving this GPU heavy object around the canvas. The GTX 1060 used to drag this asset around smoothly (I unfortunately don't have that laptop anymore) but it was very smooth. When using the RX 6700s it's stuttery and laggy despite being much more powerful. If you need anything else, just let me know. Thanks!
  10. +1 - It should be remappable so people can choose what buttons are needed to activate the modifier. However, I still don't get why the default isn't simply CTRL + RMB like Photoshop. What's the point of overcomplicating it with CTRL + ALT and then left click (which also paints accidentally)? The less button presses the better.
  11. Related: In the new update (2.1.0.1736) interactive brush sizing with CTRL + ALT + LMB no longer allows brush resizing. This brings me to a suggestion. Can we please change the interactive keybind to CTRL + RMB to resize brush? (As it is in Photoshop) CTRL + ALT + LMB seems overly complicated, and frequently makes the assistant rasterize layers unintentionally. A simple option like this would be amazing:
  12. @symbiontIn Affinity Photo go to the top navigation bar > Help > Benchmark. This will run the built-in benchmark for Photo. I'm curious to see your scores. Yeah 2.1 is definitely better but still not as fast as it should be. I think the issue is partially fixed but I still remember my old GTX 1060 performance was snappier.
  13. The benchmark scores are substantially better and the performance is also definitely smoother in 2.1 on my RX 6700s. However, I still feel that my old GTX 1060 was faster, even though the score was lower. Not sure. Would love to hear what everyone else is experiencing.
  14. @Dan C This is news to me! Just ran the benchmark and it's 2x faster on the 2.1 build for RX 6000 GPU's! I'm so happy to see this. 😁 You guys need to update this thread below and add this to the substantial features/fixes for 2.1 - this is a big deal. I know scores aren't directly comparable between versions, but is this a good indication it's running 2x faster? Or are the numbers really skewed? Here's my updated benchmark:
  15. The "Share for Review" feature from Creative Cloud is very useful. Would love to see the equivalent in Affinity. It's very useful in design studios. Creative Directors reviewing designs and leaving feedback visually is way easier.
  16. The GPU performance on Affinity is very bad with AMD cards. It's been 2 years since this issue has been known about and there is no fix sadly. AMD won't fix it and apparently nothing else can be done. So AMD users are out of luck.
  17. When creating a brush, make sure you're creating an "Intensity Brush" which will allow you to change the color with the color wheel as it is in Photoshop.
  18. Using LMB for resizing the brush constantly makes the Assistant rasterize layers, or I accidentally paint when I don't want to. Please add a remap option so users can choose. Nothing about the dragging modifier needs to change, just a matter of changing the keys required to activate the modifier. Just a simple option like this would be great:
  19. This is a nice change! It simplifies the process. One small thing I'd like to see adjusted with adding masks: When you add a mask > paint once > then CTRL+Z to go back 1-step (undo paint brush), the mask gets completely removed. Instead of removing the entire mask, I think it should just undo the single brush stroke.
  20. It appears this issue wasn't addressed in the BETA builds unfortunately. Any ETA on when we might see a fix?
  21. The new BETA's still don't address this. I really hope this is fixed soon, it's a big downgrade compared to V1.
  22. Thanks for the response @Callum, I'm part of the thread you linked. I'd hope after 2 years we can finally get a resolution to this. Do you know if the developers are speaking with AMD about it? I've tried emailing AMD personally and they've said they are investigating it. But still, no updates months later. We're left in the dark here. I use Photoshop for work and OpenCL is working great on there. I'm curious why Affinity is affected more drastically. Can anything be done besides waiting on AMD?
  23. I second this! The option for hard/sharp corner nodes while warping would be fantastic. 👏
  24. I emailed the AMD rep, he told me the issue is still under investigation, no updates yet. When he has any info he'll make sure to update me.
  25. The "Transform" link option was silently added in V2! Now we have a fully functional linking system like Photoshop. Great job, Serif! Here's a tutorial how to use it - the UI feels very confusing to use.
