walt.farrell Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 I'm not sure what's happening, just from that screenshot. Can you share your .afpub document with us, or at least enought of it to show the problem? Thomahawk Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 I have something similar. just writing new line of thext in Designer V2 and the text is fading to the right side like a gradient to white But there is nothing set. No effect, no gradient. I just put the text tool, color black and write. Nothing else on that page, nothing to see in layers just the page and this text on it. Adalbertus 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Can you share a sample .afdesign file that has the problem, @Thomahawk? Thomahawk Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 yes, see attached. all very strange. there is no way to make that text line all black 100%. Even make text into path it stays that way but every letter shows as 100% black despite it is not. And nothing else set like transparency. exampl.afdesign walt.farrell 1 Quote

Where do you see that in the exampl.afdesign file @Thomahawk posted? The contrast is so low for that layer in the screenshot that I could not read its name without opening it in a new browser tab & enlarging it 4X or so. Thomahawk Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Thats the thing. I did not set anything. I made a new page, put the text tool and started writing, it got clearer with each letter, so I tried to set the color again and again without any change, checked ther is no transparency or effects on layers. Thomahawk Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Well. I still see no transparency there. Even when I select that text element and activate the gradient or transparency tool, there is NOTHING SET. If there where it would look like this: Quote

Thomahawk Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 OK, thanks Carl. Now I see it too. Still bears the question where does it come from. Like I said. I only choose the text tool and started a new text, never touched any of the gradient tools. Quote
Dan C Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Do you by chance use the Keyboard Shortcuts to initiate the Text Frame tool @Thomahawk? I've been testing this here, thus far I've been unable to replicate this and my current assumption is that Y may have been accidentally pressed, rather than T, selecting the Transparency Tool unknowing? Thomahawk Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Thanks Dan. No, I usually select them with the cursor. Quote
Dan C Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Thanks for letting me know - I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any further reports of this & should you find a reproducible workflow that may have caused this, please update us here Quote
