walt.farrell Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @viv. The Affinity applications don't create videos or animations, so I think you'll need to use some different application. NotMyFault Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 For a video, you need a series of fotos - about 24, 25 or 30 per second of runtime. To create a video, use ffmpeg or davinci Resolve - it will generate a video of the individual frames (images). Or are you looking for the web service which creates animated videos from photos, e.g. you late grandparents? If you are a Mac user, it is possible to create a movie from an image sequence using Quicktime Player. In addition to the more advanced developer-oriented free tools mentioned above, on Windows a simple (automatic or manual) video can be created and modified with Video Editor app (integrated to Microsoft Photos in Windows 10/11), saved as .mp4 and then edited if necessary with some more advanced tool. Clipchamp is another, more advanced but free utility that can be used to create quickly and easily photo-based videos. Free XnViewMP can create quickly slideshows with transitions and audio and save them as .sld files but I am not sure if they can be exported as video files. Quote
Ron P. Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 If you need to get real fancy, with some state-of-the-art tech for video, try using DaVinci Resolve. There's a free version. However the learning curve is very steep, but there's plenty of tutorials available. Quote Affinity Photo 2.6..; Affinity Designer 2.6..; Affinity Publisher 2.6..; Affinity2 Beta versions. R C-R Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Regardless of which app is used to create the video, AFAIK none of the Affinity apps can automatically create the sequence of individual files or images needed, so since even for very short videos you need a lot of them for smooth, movie-like results, I doubt there is much point in trying to generate each of them manually in Affinity. Better to use an app designed for that sort of work.
