Stephen_H
Late 2016? I'm certainly disappointed. First early 2015, then late 2015 not late 2016? Sounds like a serious re-write is in progress. I wonder what was so problematic when I imaging half of its code already exists in Designer. (I even saw a video of Publisher demonstrating its text wrapping feature that felt like a launch teaser more than a proof-of-concept because it seemed so refined)
Staff MEB Posted November 26, 2015 Staff Share Posted November 26, 2015 Hi Stephen_H I believe what you saw was text being wrapped inside a shape in Affinity Designer. To do it copy some text to clipboard, change to Text Frame Tool, click on a shape or closed path and paste the text. You can now transform or reshape the path and the text will adapt/reflow to fit its form. It wasn't related with Publisher in any way. Tia Lapis
Really late 2016? And I was so much locking forward to it. Its getting annoying to live with Swift Designer after the Pages disaster 8( Quote Mac mini M1 / Ryzen 5600H & RTX3050 mobile / iPad Pro 1st - all with latest non beta release of Affinity
AshTeriyaki
It'd be great to get a report from the devs regarding progress on publisher. Good things come to those who wait, but I'd at least like to know why it's now a year away. anon1

Bobaffinity
Of course I'm anxious to see Affinity Publisher, but if you have worked with InDesign you know the incredible depth of InDesign. In InDesign you can even do quite a bit of work that can also be done in Affinity Designer. It's easy to see that Affinity needs a lot of time to get this right. The Affinity team is doing a fantastic job and I wish them every success. Patrick Connor
Oval
… The Affinity team is doing a fantastic job and I wish them every success. It was not a great job to change the launch of Affinity Publisher a few times without explanations.
