Adding a Soft Proof adjustment to an image works okay for me on Windows 10 Home with Photo 1.9.2.1035.
If you also shared a file/document which the problem happened with it might be easier for people to diagnose what’s going on.
Otherwise we cannot repeat exactly what you are doing on whatever you are doing it on.
Also, please give a step-by-step account of exactly what you do which ends with a crash. The smallest workflow with fewest steps from a clean application start-up is usually best.

This is probably an isolated issue. So, I don't think you'd be able to replicate this. I've attached crash dumps for Affinity team.

As I said in the post, it doesn't matter which file I choose. It keeps crashing even if I simply open an image and choose the Soft Proof from adjustments.

Do you have OpenCl acceleration on? If so try turning it off (Edit->Preferences->Performance). And what graphics card and driver version do you have?

OpenCL is turned OFF.

Card: NVIDIA GeForce 940M

Hi @malayali Sorry to hear you are experiencing crashing.  Could you check to see if you have any of these 3rd party apps installed please?

I just checked it. None of them installed on my system.

Have you tried to change the renderer in AP? You find it at Prefetences --> Perfomance too.

I have now looked at another crash report and I recommend that you completely uninstall the NVIDIA drivers with the Display Driver Uninstaller so that damaged driver components are also removed.

IDK if that's a safe solution to uninstall graphic drivers! Also, in the guide it's mentioned that it will remove all the GPU control panel settings and profiles.
Will it find and reinstall the latest driver suitable for my PC as well?

I tested with latest Affinity Photo 1.10.0.1127 and issue still exists.

Strange enough, I tried testing in the Photo Persona of Affinity Publisher and didn't face the crash!

A gentler option is to do a clean install in Nvidia Geforce experience. Its in the custom option. Solved most of my problems.

@malayali Is it possible that the icc profile you are using for the soft proof is corrupt or damaged?  What happens if you choose (just for testing) a different profile?

It's not specific to an ICC profile.

Hello @malayali

The only other thing I can think of is that a Windows system component (VC, VB or .NET) is faulty.
To be able to exclude this, you should use the Windows tool sfc.

Click with the right mouse button on the Windows Start menu symbol. Select CMD (Administrator) from the list and type sfc /scannow in the new window and press Enter.

Already did that sfc scan before posting as I had some issues (like print screen using Snip & Sketch not working) after the Windows update. Thanks anyway.

Did I ever recommend deactivating the Intel graphics card? That was the last thing on my mind.

I have the same issue on Affinity Photo 1.10.1 - crashes as soon as I add a soft proof to any document (even a new document). Don't know when it started because I've only just come back to trying soft proofing - last tried it without issue when I was running Affinity Photo 1.8.something

OS:   windows 10

Processor:    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz   4.40 GHz

Installed RAM:    24.0 GB

System type:    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Graphics Card:  Nvidia Gforce GTX 1070

Latest OS and GPU drivers.

Affinity Designer does not crash when I add a soft proof filter layer, so it seems specific to Affinity Photo.
