Averarham
Hello, 2 days ago I bought Affinity Photo, and I am really impressed about its speed and performance. I must admit it its way beyond from the previous tool I am using which is GIMP. However, as I am working on my previous task, I just encountered a problem that I am not able to solve by my self. Can anyone help me create a selection with predefined measurement like for example 2x3.5 inches on an a4 canvass, I am planning to print multiple 2x.3.5 inchess photos inside an A4 paper, but I am not able to do that so since there is no option for me to create a rectangular selection or box that can be adjusted the dimension, please help me. Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Averarham. 1. Use the Rectangle Tool (not the Rectangle Selection Tool!) to draw a rectangle. 2. Set the desired size via the Transform panel in the Studio on the right. 3. Go to the Select menu and choose ‘Selection from Layer’. 4. Delete the rectangle that you drew at step 1. firstdefence 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

Thank you for your quick response Alfred, tried to look over on the studio thing, but it seems that I cannot locate the studio on the right, I will appreciate it so much if you could point me on the right direction. THank you so much

You can also use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to make a selection, and resize it to an exact size using the Transform panel. That would eliminate steps 3 and 4 from your recipe Alfred 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. I would like to see tooltips for the various studio panels. (And I'm almost certain that Affinity used to provide them, and stopped doing so at some time.) I get tooltips for everything else that should have them in the Affinity apps, and I'm not aware of any preference in Affinity. Maybe I'll report that as a bug on Windows.
