maciej.pikula
Hello, I've got a case in Affinity Designer (the newest version on Mac with Catalina). When I select a vector object and I choose a swatch from the Swatches panel, the object gains the color I click. Then when I go back to this object and click it, the matching color is not highlighted in the Swatches panel. So if I clicked in the meanwhile another color, the Swatches panel highlights this one, not the color of the selected object. Is it possible to make the app highlighting the matching swatch? If I remember properly, Adobe Illustrator does it. It is very useful when working with many shades of gray or color. AD.mov
thatGuy
This probably is a bug, for me (V1.8.5 / desktop) it's highlighting the used swatch properly. Maybe you could add an example file just to make sure it's not something inside the document?
maciej.pikula
I tried with a new file and it also doesn't work. Maybe it's because the swatches have to be global, but for me it should work even if they are not global, especially because at the moment there is no way to quickly change swatches to global. thatGuy
For me it's working fine even with non-global colours
Dazmondo77
You need global colours for this - I've requested on multiple occasions, an option to have global as standard but have gradually reached a compromise by creating my own set of global colours, exporting, then importing and making it the default palette for CMYK so every new CMYK document now has a default global palette which also includes REAL greyscale in 10% tint increments Feel free to use my attached palette, although it is made up of CMYK colours Process globals.afpalette PaulEC 1 Quote Mac Pro Cheese-grater (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon 48 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC Ram, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Ugee 19" Graphics Tablet Monitor Triple boot via OCLP 1.4.3 - Mac OS Monterey 12.7.3, Sonoma 14.1.1 and Mojave 10.14.6 Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo 1.10.5 - 2.4.0 Betas 2.5.0(2430) www.bingercreative.co.uk
maciej.pikula
I checked and it works with global colors or Document and Application Palettes. It doesn't work with a System Palette. Thank you for your palette!

I'll get it passed on to development.

However, the swatches are only global if I import as a Document palette. As an Application or System palette, they come in non-global. Note that Templates may help in this area, as you can make a Template that has a pre-defined Document palette, and then instead of creating new documents from a Preset you can create them from the Template. Spacemanspiff
I think I may have found another bug in the swatches palette? If you select an object and then switch from the fill to the stroke or vice versa using the two circles icon or use X to switch, the swatches palette does not update to show the selected colour unless you re-select the object. The Colour Palette shows the change, but I think the Swatches Palette should update as well as it's very confusing to not see the colour highlighted when you switch but it will be highlighted if you select an object on the page!
