When you copy "something" and want to paste it to an Affinity application with Paste Special there is the option Serif Persona Nodes? I cannot find a description for this format in the help section. What are Serif Persona Nodes meant for?

It just means "Paste using objects native to Affinity". It's our internal format.

Probably should be mentioned in the Help.

I'd suggest updating the Paste Special documentation to mention that one, but I can't find any documentation about Paste Special, either :(

I agree - especially in Publisher the Paste Special option is likely to be used more often - I'll log this with our documentation team to be added in the future :)

Maybe it is missing because there is no "Paste Special" in the Mac versions (& the Mac help topic documentation in Paste Style and FX is at best very sparse)?

Possibly. But given that there are functions on one OS but not the other, the Help needs to accomodate such differences.

How do you know? ;) Anyway, one more question and one bug:

Question: What is the benefit of pasting Serif Persona Nodes instead of a) image/x-inkscape.svg, b) SVG, c) PDF?

Bug: When pasting special as PDF, the pasted object is smaller than the original. I guess know (tested it right now) the PDF is pasted with 72 dpi?.

When copy and pasting between Affinity apps, using a Serif Persona Node will always retain as much information as possible, as it's our native format. Other formats may retain the same information, but it's a lot harder to be certain when it's not our own format.

I agree, I've found this is present for all Affinity apps (on Windows) and therefor I'll log this now - it does appear to always paste at 72DPI, rather then the DPI it was copied from.

Well since it's the internal format for af~files it shouldn't be visible at all.
Only the formats possible from external sources should have an option in the paste special part.

Agreed, we are looking into this oversight

For what it may be worth, I'm not sure I agree it's an oversight.

I think that Paste Special provides all the available choices, and I think that's appropriate.

If you were to consider removing Serif Persona Node (as opposed to merely renaming it to something more user-friendly), then the rationale would presumably be that it wasn't needed because one could simply use Paste rather than Paste Special. But by that reasoning, when there is text on the clipboard, and Paste would paste it, why should Unicode Text appear on Paste Special. One could use either Paste or Paste Special > Unicode Text, so why have Unicode Text available on Paste Special. Let it be empty, and force use of Paste for that circumstance.

A bit off-topic but while that is being looked at, is there any chance that adding something similar to "Paste Special" could be considered for the Mac versions?
