Selecting nodes – even more so nodes of more than one element – requires too many clicks/actions:

1) switch to the node tool

2) click on element A, now the nodes of the element show up

3) shift-click on any other element B, C and D

4) only now one can select individual nodes either by blocking or by marquee dragging

I suggest to skip step 2) and 3) so that when one uses the node tool selecting nodes works without having to activate a bezier element in the first place. (Hell, I’d even get rid of step 1 but that is another topic already discussed and overruled.)

That is the reason why one would switch to the node tool: to work on the nodes, right?

Just the other day, someone posted a comment to say that it not selecting the nodes of the other curves without them being part of the selection was a fantastic feature...

It all depends on what you're used to, and in some of the designs I've got, it would be nearly impossible to marquee select the nodes I intended to, without also selecting nodes from hundreds of other overlapping shapes that I wasn't interested in. There's power in this 'limitation' in my opinion

I understand your question Matthias #1 but, if, for example, I am working with nodes that are very near from each other, if they all are activated at the same time maybe it's confunsing to know witch controls belong to this or that node.

By "controls" I mean, the "antennas" of the nodes :D

I tend to agree with you Matt. At first it felt strange but then I quickly realized how nice it was to use the node tool to marquee and it would only select the nodes of the object already selected. I compare the tool behaviour to Blenders "edit" mode. It's like an edit mode in Affinity Designer. I like it.

Can be a bit too much sometimes.

But, maybe would be nice this behaviour: with double click on any node of a certain element, all his are activated and editable (and can be change into "corner nodes" or "curve nodes" at the same time)

...and with simple click on a node, the things works as actually.

In illustrator the "q" shortcut enables a draggable "lasso" sort of marquee that isn't limited to square or rectangular shaped marquee selecting. This would be very handy for the type of shape above. You click and draw around the nodes you want selected. It's great fro selecting areas in an irregular shape.

Is something similar to this available or planned for in AD?

Should be easy to implement if people just want it on a shortcut. I will add it to the list.

Many thanks,

Selecting nodes with the marquee tool would be much appreciated. I like Illustrator's technique. When you click on an object with the node selection tool, all of the nodes show up (unselected) you can then click on them individually to select them or drag a marquee to select multiple points...or both. Not having this capability, in my workflow at least, is crippling.

You can marquee select nodes.  In the Node tool, select a curve - it's nodes will appear, but unselected - then just drag the marquee.  The status bar hint tell you this, and which modifier keys to use for add/remove from selection with marquee.
