  1. I wanted to create a table where the fringes of each row faded or changed to a different color.
  2. I create a Table and modify the stroke. Then align the table to a guide and it snaps at the middle of the stroke. To be correctly aligned, shouldn_t it snap to the outer border??? I searched n snapping manager for an option to change this behaviour, but didn't find.
  3. I created a simple table in my document. I place the curser in the last row and move the curser using the right arrow key to advance through the last row of the table. When I get to the end of the table, pressing the right arrow key one more time crashes Affinity Publisher. I am also noticing that the last row is taller than the other rows and AP won't let me resize this row. I've attached the file... Untitled.afpub

    Table Frame issues

Hello Affinity people, First let me say thanks for giving us the opportunity to beta test publisher and to hopefully help to make it the application we all want it to be. It's looking really good so far. However, there are lots of things missing for me and my workflow (e.g. scripting and grep styles) but I hope that you will continue to add these kinds of features as the application matures. I am having an issue with the new publisher beta ( where the frame around a table is always drawing behind the fill and strokes of the cells. I have attached a screen shot so that you can see the issue. The way I would imagine this working would be that the frame should always draw in front of the cells fill and stroke, unless you have the 'Draw behind fill' checkbox checked. By the way, this check box does nothing at the moment! Also if I choose 'Text | Find' from the menus the application will immediately crash - this happens every time. Thanks again Spacemanspiff
  5. There seems to be a bug when trying to adjust cell height, using both the up and down arrows results in a huge size increases also typing in a number say 5mm results in 9mm, the only way I've found of reducing the cel size is type in 0. Copy paste from Numbers works great although all cell widths default to a set size but I can't get Excel to paste into tables it just pastes in as loads of little text boxes Also will there be any plans to have a lock cell sizes function, enabling you to paste into a setup table without messing up the cell layout?

    Bug: Table Designer

I created a paragraph style to be the header row for a table called "Table Header Brown". Then duplicated the default table style and began to edit it. Several observations: 1. If you choose the vertically center button, it is not sticky between calling up instances of the table designer 2. If you add a column to the default layout (shown on the left), there is a + button to add columns or rows, but no - button to delete the col or row 3. When I create a cell type for the header row and apply it to the default layout, the header repeats again after the number of "default" style rows when applied to a table. The default cell format is still based on the Table Body format, and my header rows are based on my customer header cell as shown in the attached figure. I did figure out that if you drag the down arrow on the left side to the next row, it will only apply the cell formatting to the top row. Sorry if this is intended behavior, I'm just trying to figure this out. thanks David Sampson
  7. A few operations that would be handy when working with tables, perhaps for some future version: - Create a table from a selection of objects. (e.g., You have a nicely aligned grid of text frames, and you would like to convert them into a true table.) - An option in the column & row headers to duplicate that column or row, preserving formatting. (I do see that you can copy/paste an entire row or column into another one.) - Optionally paste tab-delimited content into a table and have each item populate a separate cell. - Dynamically link a table to an external spreadsheet or CSV file as the content source.
  8. While playing the options of paragraph flow (on edit style pane) I've noted that the Keep with next option displaces and moves text in table cells using the style, moving final lines of paragraph to the next cell and reflowing the next ones. See attached images (one with 0 and other with 1 on the field)
  9. Hello, just tried the beta and I noticed that a feature is missing: automatica caption numbering. Ok, it's very easy to create a paragraph syle and apply a"Bullets and numbering" style, but when we deal with large documents (books, for example) the numbering should be autoarranged from top to bottom. Please, see the image attached for a visual explanation. What do you think about?
  10. Please add the main functions from Excel! For example: Sum, Min, Max, Count, Average.
  11. Can the people working on the Affinity range PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE at least take a look at Mircosoft Word 2016, Microsoft Publisher 2016 and explain why I have to create a table in Publisher (since Office 2000) and then save it as an image and then paste into Serif PagePlus (or an Affinity App) because 17 years later this feature has been totally IGNORED by the SERIF Development Team ????? How difficult it can it be to spilt a cell diagonally AFTER desiging apps that run circles around other all these years ? PLEASE SERIF - actually listen to what customers are asking you for.
  12. Would be really nice to be able to copy/past Apple Numbers spreadsheet tables into Affinity Designer. Right now it is pretty rubbish, and If I want to get a table pasted into Affinity Designer I need to Copy from Apple Numbers, Paste into Adobe Photoshop, export as PSD, import PSD into Affinity designer. I say Apple Numbers because the table design tools are the best there is, fast easy and very good quality. This would negate Affinity Designer having to get too involved in creating its own table designer, In Design tables are trash also, but I can copy/paste from Apple Numbers. Thanks,
  13. When pasting a table from the clipboard that was copied from Word 2011, Affinity designer crashes (without warning; "Affinity Designer quit unexpectedly"). Luckily, the auto-backup saved most of my work. I was expecting that Affinity Designer would produce the table as unformatted text. Apart from that I'm very satisfied by Affinity Designer. I have used it extensively in the past few weeks and I am amazed by the by the blazing speed of the rendering engine when working on (very) complex drawings. Although I can think of many improvements, this app is really really useful. I finally left CorelDRAW for my artwork. Love it, can't wait to see the next beta!
