Resize Layer Panel

Thank you Callum Unfortunately I can't get the same result. When I go to a corner I get a left-right arrow which allows me to resize horizontally but nothing I try gets it to resize vertically. It was working fine previously but now stubbornly refuses to resize vertically. Is there anything else I can do to resize the panel vertically. I tried repairing the file but that made no difference. -
How do I resize my layers panel vertically. I can make it wider by pulling on the corners but I can't get it to go vertically.

My text in a text frame overwrites itself. It seems that the leading has disappeared. Where and how can I fix that?

It would be useful if you could adjust row height and column width in tables by entering a value rather than clicking and dragging
