Hi, I've just bought Affinity Photo after Pixelmator kept mangling my images, AP works absolutely fine with JPG images and I can set up some really nice noise reduction in RAW but this NR then seems to completely disappear as soon as click 'develop' and wait for the blue bar to disappear. So at the moment I'm getting nicer processing by using my JPG images than with RAW (I shoot RAW+JPG on a Sony SLT-A58) which can't be right :). Any ideas? Is it a bug? I've uploaded 3 screenshots to demonstrate the problem. Thanks for any help, Dan

Yesterday I had to create a background for a event one of my clients. A canvas of 2x2.5 m with something like an frost room with a polar bear. It can improve the top and some detail, but did not have much time to do it, 2-3 hours is not bad, and the client very happy.

So, as I've previously mentioned, I've been on a quest to replace Adobe products in my workflow. I've been a proud owner of Affinity Photo and Designer since last year, but was still using Photoshop, Lightroom, etc... Well, with my subscription finally ending, and choosing not to renew, I wanted to really push A-Photo into my workflow permanently. I chose a specific YouTube tutorial where the artist used Photoshop (uses Photoshop for all tutorials), and recreated the image using A-Photo. For the most part, A-Photo and Photoshop went tik for tak on tools and layer properties. Where there were differences, I was able to find suitable workarounds in A-Photo to achieve the action/look needed. In the end, it's a no brainer for me. Adobe products are no longer on my Mac, and I've never been happier. I'm waiting for the next update like a child waiting for Christmas, and I'm really excited to see this great app evolve and improve. Keep up the great work boys! Oh, and please bring Luminosity Masks! Image Specs: The sky, ocean surface, ocean floor, fish, bear, children were all stock images. The bubbles and water splashes were airbrushed. Final color grading and vintage film effects were added using Nik Analog Efex Pro. Cheers!

Hi If anyone is interested in using / likes playing with Panorama's, l took a series of single shot iPad images at the weekend specifically to test the Affinity Photo Panorama facility, really, just to see how well it worked. Most impressed l must say. Anyway, the single, unprocessed / straight out the back of the iPad images for you to play with and a completely unprocessed stitched Panorama example can be found at the following link, (l hope you can access the images, sorry but l do not do Face page or the Tweeting stuff). https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0NGWZuqDGPYHGo I have also attached a LowRes version of the resulting Stitched Panorama just for info. Hello, I have read through all of the official docs that I can find about affinity photo for the Ipad, that it will basically be like the full program. However, I would like to know if things like frequency separation will also be included. Being able to do detailed skin touch ups on the go would be amazing. -
Had a bit of time last night for a weekend challenge so I pulled out an old Nikon raw file from an assignment in 2009 that was horribly mis-metered and badly exposed. Due to time constraints (the main shots had to be seeded to press right after the show) a bunch of shots never got published because they would have required too much time per shot. My challenge now was: Can I make this acceptable in 30 minutes or less. I think I got in the ballpark to where it'd be usable in an editorial context. Not likely that I'll publish this one as it's just a training piece to develop faster workflows. Moral of the story. Always shoot raw. Converters get better, new apps come along, chances are you can fix a bad shot a few years down the road. I pretty much expunged the way of working I had in Photoshop and now am closer to how I'd approach a shot in Nuke. Meta: Shot on August 8th 2009 at The Water Rats (Monto) in London, UK. Hi! Just a simple question about an very very very old trick. If I have a selection and I move it with Option (Alt for Windows) the action is not duplicate this selection? Sorry. Maybe will be a simple solution, but I downloaded the Beta of Affinity Photo and I am new with this fabulous app. I am an old fashioned user of Amazing Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Coverter, Acorn and Pixelmator and I want to hold on all the time with Affinity Photo when I will purchase in no time ;) -

Hello, I've been using Affinity for a while now, and have liked it quite a lot. Photo bends quite well to digital painting (sometimes even better than PS) but today I noticed a tiny problem. When I use Paint Brush with a brush that has texture (I've included a picture), the brush cursor shows all the little holes in the brush too, which makes it a bit hard to see what I'm painting. Is there a way to reduce the cursor's visibility somehow? For example turning it into a crosshair permanently (for now crosshair works only when the brush is really small) or showing only the outline of the brush, not it's insides too? I've looked through the Preferences and the forums, but I haven't found a solution yet. Thanks!

Was up, unable to sleep last night and I decided to try some compositing. This is an early concept. I may work on it some more, or change direction entirely, I'm not sure yet. This was made with all stock images. Composited in A.Photo, then color graded and texture added in Nik Analog Efex Pro.

Is this possible? -
Hey folks! I would like to know if there is a way to draw lines in Affinity Photo. With the Paint Brush Tool, there is a "continue last stroke" feature, but it's not really creating a line, since it paints over the last stroke when using lower opacities: Also, it's impossible to draw horizontal or vertical lines that way... Hey folks, I am in a situation where I wanted to correct an image. For this, I needed a tool to just paint one pixel in a certain color. When I selected the paint brush tool, changed width to 1px, opacity and hardness to 100%, Affinity Photo still created a "smooth dot". So my chosen color "black" became gray and had a few gradient pixels around it etc. example: How can I just draw a single pixel in a desired color? Thanks in advance and best regards! Rorando
