  1. Made with Affinity Photo and Designer complete on the iPad Pro (Also used After Effect + Rough Animator for motion graphic) While studying at SAE for my Bachelor of Design, I got the opportunity to work on a re-brand and advertisement campaign for Wokka. (The following body of work is for university work only and are not for a real camping) The campaign is focused around 3 main posters that follow the story of the Dinosaur challenging the Ninja to a fight (Poster 1) so they go to the battlefield in order to fight (Poster 2) Tho they realized that neither one of them knew how to fight, so they ended it on the dance floor. The Ninja won the battle and the dinosaurs did not like this so he takes the ninja into hiding. After a couple of weeks after the posters go up a new poster he be put up over the past posters along in other area's and within the online place, this poster is a "Ninja missing poster" on the back will give some information and a QR code to give information to the "player" about the "transmedia" game where the "player" will need go around the "real world" with the Wokka app taking photos of the ninja's clothes, ninja sword, ninja star along with the use of information around online such as youtube video, Reddit posts, forum posts and more to help give information to the ninja's location, bringing the community together for a single goal. To help find the ninja's location in order for the first 5 people who find him and take a photo to get one year supply of Wokka noddles and to start of 50% off and double points for Wokka products. 2. I am using Affinity Pro on iPad Pro 12.9 inches. I try to separate the images by using the "Refine Selection" Tool, but with the word "Refine Selection ..." in the middle, the clock is repeated several times over and over again. I am using an Apple pencil, and I do not know if this is a problem with the Apple pencil or the problem with the app itself. Is there an option to render after I've made my selection? In addition, is there an option to stop using the hand when using the Apple pencil? IMG_1269.TRIM.MOV
  3. Hello Everybody.. I bought the app yesterday from the iTunes and I was thrilled with its powerful tools and it was a dream came true but not for too long, I was making a project and suddenly the app quit and when I opened it again there was a huge steps that I made hasn't been saved in the document I feel very frustrated and I don't know what to do.. does anyone know what to do?
  4. Recently I have had the problem with my pencil picking up the background color when I'm trying to paint with a different color. It's not only painting on masks but other situations also.
  5. I did a search, but I couldn't find an answer to my question. Will Affinity Photo work on the new iPad 2018 or do I need to buy the Pro version? Thanks
  6. Hi, I currently don't do any processing on the move - using just my Mac desktop at home. I have an iPad Pro and am exploring my options to get things done whilst out and about doing shoots. My query is about my potential workflow, and if Affinity Photo can help. I currently use all Adobe apps on my desktop, but a quick look at Lightroom on the iPad doesn't seem to provide what I am looking for. I'm a real estate photographer, and I outsource my processing due to the volume of work required. But I often get gaps in my schedule when on the road, which could help me to get my photos to the editors quicker (then waiting until I get home). I'm using Sony A7R III (with an A7 III as a backup). All I need to be able to do is: 1) Get the Sony RAW files from my SD card onto the iPad. I understand a lightning SD reader will be needed for that. 2) Then to review the images, and possibly on some of them scale/crop to get the best of the shot. No actual processing of colours, etc. 3) Then save/export them as DNG files onto a cloud platform (whether it be OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox, whatever). Then I can email my Editors the location of the files to pick up for processing. I can't give them JPGs because they need to do the actual processing. DNGs end up much smaller filesizes than Sony RAW which means easier uploading too. And they are more universally recognized (the editors don't want to work with specific raw formats like Sony) Right now I have to wait until I get home from a day of shooting and do the above with Lightroom on my Mac. I'd love to be able to do this between shoots on the road, on the iPad. However, none of the apps I have looked into seem to be able to export this way. It's either save back to the original RAW format - or convert to a final non-raw format such as JPG. As I can't trial Affinity on iPad - and it's the key feature I would need - I thought I would ask here before buying. Is this going to be possible? Many thanks Simon
  7. Hello I am new here. I am looking to get a USB thumb drive that I can backup/work with my iPadPro 12". Any recommendation? I am looking at Sandisk, Leef and Kingston Bolt or any brand that works with Affinity Photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Here is the final image that I was having the crashing issue with a couple days ago. 100% iPad Pro with Affinity Photo. Hope ya like.
  9. After much consideration I've decided to invest in a portable tablet so that I'm no longer tethered to my Workstation at home and can double my output of designs by working on the go. I currently use an Artisul D13 tablet and it's been good to me, but I've recently tried my friends iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil and it completely blows mine out of the water. It's highly responsive with no lag, pressure sensitivity was off the charts, and there was no parallax which completely blew my mind! I went to Best Buy to purchase one and stumbled upon the MS Surface Book 2 on display so I checked it out. Now I'm conflicted because the Surface Pen is just as impressive as the Apple Pencil! The fact that the Surface Book 2 also doubles as a laptop and runs Windows 10 is a huge plus, but I need to inquire about a few things before I make such an investment. 1) Designer is the main app I use for my illustrations so I was wondering when it's coming to the iPad Pro or if there's some type of beta I can use until the full release. 2) If I get the Surface Book 2 am I allowed to install the same Designer & Photo I have on my PC or do I need a different License? 3) I know Photo is optimized very well on the iPad Pro so is it safe to assume that the same could be said for all versions of the Surface Book 2? 4) Let's say I get the Surface Book 2 with the i7 CPU, GTX 1060 GPU, and 16gb of Ram; Are there any type of performance benefits to having all the extra memory and computing power? If so what are they? Sorry for the long post and please feel free to comment. All opinions are welcome specially if you have an iPad Pro or the Surface Book 2.
  10. Hello everyone, I’m a beginner photographer and I got some problems using this app. I transferred my raw photos taken on my old trusty 6D to my iPad Pro (iOS 11) and the original iPad photo app is showing a huge difference compared to the imported image in Affinity photo. I think the problem is because I set my camera to increase sharpness & saturation however the raw file didn’t reveal those modifications done by my camera. I have tried to adjust HSL, Curve, exposure and so many things but I just can’t get the color right. I really want that color, that feeling shown in my camera as well as in the origional iPad photo app. Is there any solution such as adding the preset or something? Thank you so much for the help! As seen below, the raw image is so fade out because of the exposure issue. After adjustment I can get some pinkish color but definitely not this darken red color.
  11. I’m on iOS 11.1 on iPad Pro 10.5. Not sure if I should update to 11.2.6, b/c of all of the reported issues. There seem to be some pretty dramatic screw-ups in that update. But the App Store won’t let me purchase or download Affinity unless I’m on 11.2.6. Is there a way for me to download an older version for iPad that’ll work on 11.1? I’m really interested in this app! Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi, What typical save times are we looking at for the various export options? I'm currently exporting out a PSD at 530mb approx and it's taking ages! I understand it'll vary depending on file size/amount of information, but this does seem really quite slow? Are many people bouncing work between the desktop and iPad? Best, Nick
  13. I am VERY interested in a serious version of Affinity Designer that would be functional (advanced functional) on the iPad Pro. The iPad pro is great, but there are few serious programs for it other than Affinity Photos, which I have. Many of the design programs are very Lite. But I really need to do serious design work on my iPad pro and hope that Affinity Designer has a future on the iPad Pro platform. Thanks, Rick
  14. Hi, I have just tried Affinity Photo and am quite impressed, it seems much easier than photoshop. My question is: do I need multiple purchases or will one purchase of Affinity do all my devices? Regards JJPKB

About the Project:Beyond Horizon is a small project I've been working on for a couple of years now, starting off as a 2d pixel art game before moving into this mixture of vector and semi-realistic textures that I started to play around with while working on an illustrated calendar.I'm currently working on this project solo so production on the game has been slow (along with changing a lot of things required to re-start from the ground up) and I felt like I should start sharing the project. 17. I have both an iPad and an iPad Pro. On the iPad I can still Place images from Dropbox exactly as they should be. And until tonight, I could do the same on the iPad Pro. Now the Placed image is coming in cropped (like a square cut out of the full image) and magnified...sometimes magnified to point of pixelation. I checked that the Preferences are the same on both. I may have altered something but I don't know what...any suggestions? Thanks Attached: After Placing the cluster of yellow and red tulips on background (single tulip), it looked like the green leaves and is the same size as the layer below.
  18. HEY Hows everyone doing on here..... I wanted to share some of my work but figured since its my first post I'd share a little about myself as well. Im new to the whole Affinity program but Ive been a Hi-End retoucher for over the past 9 years. Currently Im a retouching manager in New York specializing in beauty and Product retouching. At work we're using the Top of the Line MAC's fully spec'd out with the "industry standard" photoshop ....... BUT I've been looking for something equally as capable as photoshop but mobile! AND HERE's where AFFINITY comes in... This thing is amazing! Every time I use it I find myself going back to work the next day with another "Guess what else affinity Does" story. lol. Im shocked It can handle the files it does and I'm sure its only going to get better from here. Ive been quietly looking around on this forum and all ready see SO many talented people. So I hope to bring some of my perspective from someone who uses photoshop all day at work. But then AFFINIY for my personal on the go projects. Some info on the file - Theres over 60 layers of just umbrellas and shadows! (ZERO Slow down in app). The file closed is about 400mb but opened its 1.18gb. This was shot with my Dji Mavic Pro. Completely edited start to finish in AFFINITY Photo for Ipad Pro
  19. Is it possible to install or import the Affinity Photo styles that I downloaded from the Internet? I’m working on an iPad Pro, iOS 11. thanks, bkabstract
  20. Hello, I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful software you guys have created. I’m glad to inform you that I have successfully and delightfully moved my entire workflow from Photoshop on the Mac to AP on the Ipad pro. The one feature I miss though is being able to use the Topaz Detail plugin for skin smoothening. I’ve tried various workarounds for smoothening, but nothing quite gives me the same result. Is there a way I can install the plugin on the IPad version of AP cheers Zaheer
  21. Keyboard Short Cuts for IPad pro Only a day into Affinity Photo, so if i not seen the answer apologies. The Question simple, short cuts from blue tooth keyboard in Affinity can this be done ? On iPad Pro. Like say cmd key helped down on keyboard, browser options are now shown. Regards Rob
  22. Small icons and color combo on the iPad pro user interface are difficult for visually impaired. Difficult to see gray on gray or black. The colors on the Mac interface are great! This would be a great improvement. Thanks!
  23. Hello Every one! I am new here and I am planning to buy an iPad pro 12.9. And I have questions for you about Affinty designer for iPad pro: Is it a full version? Can I make some official Curses for it or Affinty photo by using iPad pro 12.9? Thank you so much, Ghaeth
  24. So far I had only used AP for photo editing on my iPad Pro, but finally got around to draw and paint in it yesterday, and I was enthusiastic! This was as close to draw on paper as one can get on a screen, I thought. Better than Procreate even, which I’ve been using for my daily work since I bought the iPad Pro when it first came out - but I was disappointed today and had to give up on it and shared the drawing I had started with Procreate and finished it there. What went wrong? Well, it started to lag. The line was dragging several millimetres behind the tip of Pencil and it made it impossible to draw with quick strokes as is my manner. There is still plenty of space on the iPad, more than 80 gb out of 128 and the drawing wasn’t that large, either. So, anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? I’ll attach a short screen recording which shows what happens. ADFC4E31-3A27-4ED0-97C2-A065AF00998F.MP4 The screen recording didn’t play on my iPad at least so I attach a screenshot, too.
  25. Hi, i’m using an iPad Pro 12.9” and iOS 11 the most recent version, plus the most recent version of Affinity Photo. i’ve noticed That when I use the Patch Tool or the Healing brush tool do more than just their usual duty and also slightly blur the part of the image I use them to paint over. It kind of kills the detail of the picture. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that effects this? often times I use the frequency separation filter and when I do, my hope is that the high frequency layer will remain in clear detail, but the Healing brush or and patch Tool just blur everything...
