  1. Hi, as a fun exercise I created the Conway's Game of live in Affinity Photo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life It uses black as background/dead cell and white as living cell. GOL.mov The macro does all the steps for one iteration. It has 2 simple steps: Use a custom filter with selected values to have "living" cells within certain grey values use a PT filter to select living cells and make them "white" Ensure you have some spare batteries for the mouse (one click - one step) game of life.afmacro game of live.afphoto
  2. Made with APh 2 from my own fotos
  3. This photo manipulation artwork is "Dreaming Girl & Grandpa Elephant". When I was young, I had a lot of good memories about film camera, so I made this artwork to remember it. "Dreaming Girl & Grandpa Elephant" speed art : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWs6WzBEP0A
  4. Here are some experiments, of varying quality, that I was playing around with at the weekend. Apart from some (modified) background images everything was done in Designer and Photo. They’re not what I would call ‘production ready’ but they’re okay as long as you don’t go looking for problems. (Any resemblance to real movies or organisations is purely accidental.)
  5. Hi All. I'll be 76y/o in a few weeks (April 2023), so no spring chicken! Art has always been a self-schooled, serious hobby for me, working with colour pencils, water colour, water colour airbrush and oils. I have been comfortable doing fairly basic photo manipulation in PhotoShop for years, but dumped them for Affinity when they went subscription - and don't miss them one bit! So ... I thought, Why not give digital art a go with this wonderful new suite! Eighteen months in and - from absolutely nowhere - I have illustrated three children's picture books for two different authors. All have been granted Mom's Choice Awards, Honouring Excellence on all three and I'm working on a fourth as I write. I love working digitally. I'm a huge fan of illustrations by Beatrix Potter and I like to think my work is in that vein with a modern twist. I have attached a few favourites here. All created entirely in Affinity Photo ... Enjoy!
  6. Been reading Spy X Family lately and ended up loving it. Just wanted to make a fun little drawing of the cutest character in the manga, Anya. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aYgyGq
  7. Greetings to All, Here is a picture of the moon to be included in my montage of moon phase images in colour. This image is short listed to be included in my montage of moon phase images in colour. All image processing was done in Affinity Photo (excellent program!) For those who are interested: The colour saturation was obtained in a 5 stage process (5 adjustment layers) of gradually increasing levels of colour saturation. This colour saturation process will amplify colour noise so one must start with a "low noise image. The low noise image was obtained by stacking 15 images (noise averaging - Greek letter Mu) to give about 4x improvement. For crescent images we might try stacking 25 images for an improvement of x5. I am trying to find a logical explanation for the green light over the craters. Regards, Jeremy.
  8. Drawn on iPad 12” with Affinity Photo V2.
  9. Attached is a document I created for simple astrophotography stacking, editing, and layering. Procedure to stack and edit astrophotography images using Affinity Photo 2.pdf
  10. Hello: Here's another packaging exercise done in Blender. The can textures were done with Affinity Photo, as well as the final promo images. Also some color retouch and composting of several Blender passes to enhance the render. Let me know if there are any questions. Sharing some of the images of the process. P.D. Hopefully can work in an animation soon...
  11. This photo manipulation artwork is "Mystical Portal". I thought about how nice it would be if I could create a portal like Dr. Strange. Of course we cannot do that, so I just made it with affinity photo https://youtu.be/OuvvePz0rrg
  12. This artwork is "Wings of Salvation". One day, I was comforted just by looking at the sky so I hope that comfort can be conveyed to people who are enduring difficult times. https://youtu.be/xNDL1x988HM
  13. This artwork, I'm going to fall back into the dark world and show a horror piece. The title is "Ghost Island." "Ghost Island" speed art : https://youtu.be/vqsRXVrvO_4
  14. I imagined that if I had a baby, I would go on a space trip together, so today I made an image of it~ "Walk in a Strange Place" speed art : https://youtu.be/7eYe8s2q5zU
  15. Playing with Blender 3D to create this mockup for a fictional brand of potato chips. Textures done with Affinity Photo and Designer Here's also a Turntable animation. https://www.instagram.com/p/CniJqVVhImy/
  16. Australian "digger" wearing the "slouch hat" leans against the wall of a typical Libyan roadhouse, giving his feet a well deserved break. The wall has been decorated with an advertisement for Griffith's tea made by an obviously most talented Autralian sapper. Also leaning on the wall is the superb British .303in. Bren machine gun. Pretty far away from home... The graphics is a wild mixture of coloured photo (digger's head), ArtPose body, Bren gun scale model image and own drawings.
  17. Italian Autoblinda AB41, burned out in the Libyan desert, 1942. Original XARA drawing heavily post-processed with the wonderful AP 1.
  18. I saw two suns in my dream so I wanted to make an artwork like a beautiful landscape painting. But the meaning of two suns is "Confusion" in the dream interpretation. That's why I put the title "A Beautiful Confusion" "A Beautiful Confusion" speed art : https://youtu.be/coRmX5__vkU?list=PLaYwL68IKsHT621IiqxrLp3tVp2xYHc7W
  19. This photo manipulation artwork is "Fly High Turtle," which I made to cheer for myself. I'd appreciate if you enjoyed watching it. "Fly High Turtle" speed art : https://youtu.be/8CPjNYaDLxE?list=PLaYwL68IKsHT621IiqxrLp3tVp2xYHc7W
  20. I think I’ve probably ‘faffed about’ with this for long enough so it’s time to ‘release it into the wild’ and “go out and do something less boring instead” (as the song, which some members of a certain age might remember, goes). All done – except for certain stock images – in Affinity Designer and Photo. It’s just an experimental thing, not a real product. (You may need to click on the image and zoom in to see more detail.)
  21. I really enjoy watching Netflix's Strange Things Season 4. It was so exciting, and it inspired me a lot. So this photo manipulation was done with the atmosphere of "Stranger Things Season 4" "Awakening of The Dark Lord" speed art : https://youtu.be/cvvUGIaUdNU
  22. I made a little Collage with APh this morning. I would be even more excited about Affinity Photo if I could do the placing of files directly from APh not by loading and placing. If the file is already open, it would be much easier for a collage but also for Panorama, HDR or FocusStacking. In the cemetery you can find gravestones from the 17th to the 20th century.
