Personally, I have been having a hard time accepting AP as a replacement for PS. There is a performance issue and quality issue. I have attached a side-by-side example of a NEF image taken with my D750, both zoomed too 100% . The image were processed similarly, or as best I could. You can PS did a much better job, especially in regards to sharpeness. Has anyone else done this comparison? If so, what were your results?

Is anyone else finding NEF open/load times to be very slow? On a very unscientific basis, 2 to 3 seconds to load in v1, 8 - 9 in v2.

Hi, When I open a raw file taken with my Nikon D810, the photos look very flat and dull. Is this normal behavior with RAW files or am I doing something wrong? When I open them in other applications, they look as I would expect them to. I've attached a screenshot and a copy of the RAW file to help troublshoot my quesiton. Left is a different application (whose name shall not be mentioned) and Affinity Photo is on the right. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I'm using Affinity Photo for Windows version 1.6.5.123 and my computer is on Windows 10 with 32gigs of memory. Chris Copy of the original raw file. Fall-2018-photoshoot-1056 - Copy.NEF

Hello everyone! I'm slowly transitioning from Adobe and relearning a few things along the way. One area that I am having a hard time with is lens profiles. I photograph real estate with a Nikon D600 and Tokina 17-35mm f4 full frame lens. In Lightroom, there is a lens correction area and it automatically detects and corrects for the lens distortion. I have downloaded the latest lensfun profiles( GitHub - lensfun/lensfun: The Lensfun project Git repository for anyone else who finds this) but it is not listed. Is there any other way to obtain the lens profile? Can we request it? Is there a way to create one? Thanks, Adam

So I've read through the forums, and see that the Nikon D610 is listed under the supported RAW cameras. I've also seen several posts where people are having issues opening multiple nef files. Since nef is Nikon's raw format, I'm curious as to whether or not it is actually supported. I recently deployed AP to my end users, and have been getting feedback that the application is constantly freezing and crashing. After speaking with them, I've discovered that the files they process come from Nikon D610's and that they must be in a RAW format. Well, the only RAW format that these cameras can capture in is nef. Again, reading through other posts, it seems that nef is not currently working as intended. However, the D610 is listed under the supported RAW formats. If you could please clarify if this does or does not work, and if it does, any help to address the situation would be appreciated.

Hello- I am a new Affinity user (got the program this January.) I have questions about the Develop persona. I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and use a Dell laptop running Windows 10. I find that NEF RAW files usually display as very dark in the Develop persona and lighten significantly when I hit "Develop" and move to the regular Photo persona. Then I have to re-adjust the levels if I want to get it back to how the photo appeared after edits in Develop. The confusing thing is, this does not happen with every image, and I can't figure out which variables differ between the photos that preview accurately in Develop and the photos that do not. It might have to do with which specific edits I applied in Develop, and this issue may come up more with photos that were already on the darker end of the spectrum. I have checked my monitor display settings and they seem to be OK. Is there something I can do to make the Develop persona provide a more accurate preview of how the photo will appear in the main Affinity Photo Persona? Is there something basic I am missing? Thanks, Alexis

When attempting to open greyscale NEF photos from a Nikon Coolscan V, affinity splits the photo into 3 images, each taking up approx 1/9 of the full frame of the picture, with the rest blank space. Is there a fix or workaround to this issue? Attached below are the original file (01), what the file should look like, as opened in Photoshop (Proper), and what the file looks like in Affinity (Error). 01.nef

The following are edited from RAW files from the Nikon D5300.

When I open raw files from Nikon capture NX-D into affinity photo, the files are darker as compared to ones in capture NX-D meaning exposure down by almost 1-2 stops. Does any one knows what is the reason behind it and how one can fix this issue. Thanks

Hello, I am a new Affinity Photo user and I found out, that when I export file to JPEG, I loose EXIF info. When I open RAW file from my camera Nikon D700 in Development persona, EXIF tool doesn't read all the EXIF info (compare to Nikon ViewNXi, where I see a lot more EXIF information about image settings, camera info, flash info, Picture control settings etc.). When I develop image, work on it in Photo persona (using NIK collection plugin as well) and export it to JPEG (embed metadata checked), EXIF data is lost then. Is there any way to preserve all the original EXIF data embedded in RAW image when developing and exporting image in Affinity Photo? I attached file to see what EXIF is displayed in Development persona when I open RAW image. Is it same for you guys? Or do you have more detailed EXIF? Thanks for help. Peter

Hello Affiniciados: A total newbie with Affinity Photo, Windows version 1.6.2.97, with many questions. I notice in Andy's list of supported RAW cameras 1.6.x the Nikon D7500 is not listed. Does that mean that if I have questions related to that camera, I am out of luck? Or is it soon to be added to the list? Questionably, Peter

Nikon and Canon cameras have changeable picture control settings that can be changed in raw photos. Can AP allow us to have the option to change that setting as LR does ie. Portrait, Landscape, vivid, monochrome, etc.

Can you add support for NRW format? I purchased the app in app store principally for RAW editing, and it does not work (and nothing in app info is specified about NRW not being supported)

Hi AF team, I recently bought a Nikon Coolpix B700 and Affinity Photo as an alternative to Lightroom. I can't begin learning AP because when I import my RAW images they have a pink/purple hue that ruins the image. I am using AP 1.5.2.69 on Windows 10 Pro x64. I will attach a screen shot of the issue. Unfortunately my raw images are over 20 MB a piece so here they are hosted on dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/86g4v2bq821kux1/AAAVcOkfT1PHdaw5QJHYFkQ2a?dl=0 Oddly when I uploaded them to dropbox the render in dropbox was also distorted with a pink discoloration. I have no idea what is going on, is there a setting on my camera that could be causing this? Any jpeg images I take appear fine in all applications. Thanks for any help

Recently bought Affinity photo and been using it to edit RAW photos taken on my Nikon D3100. No problems when looking at photos in camera or in affinity. Just upgraded to a Nikon D750 and found that when i open the photos in Affinity they are much much darker and extremely washed out compared to when viewed in camera. Does any one know how to fix this difference that Affinity is showing??

When trying to open a Nikon NEF file (D500), on the file - open, it lists the file numbers of the images, but when i click on one it displays..No preview available. In order to see the image i have to double click on the file number which then takes it into the develop persona. I have watched some you tube vids, that show that when a file number is single clicked it shows a preview to the right. As you can image, with no preview available, its a right pain trying to find individual images to work on. ta in advance.
