hey guys, i'm new with affinity designer, i use it about a week in my ipad pro 9.7 inch. This app is powerfull yet have few issues. I just want to ask if the text will always become pixel if i export it into PSD file ? or any suggesstion so the text still editable in other apps? Because this issue, i always re-adding text on my laptop with photoshop/illustrator so the text still editable. I search in many post but still this issue not clear for me. Sorry for the bad english and basic question.

Hey all, I've been working on a deck of cards. Still trying to flesh out the main theme I want to go for but right now its sort of based on Tarot cards. Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds are also Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentagrams respectively like in a tarot deck. There's also 4 colors instead of 2. The idea is for this deck to also be the minor arcana of a tarot deck and later I can design a "major arcana expansion" deck that when combined with this deck would make it into a full tarot deck. The major arcana card in a tarot deck are the ones with names like "The Magician", "The Fool", "Death", "Justice", etc. The minor arcana are the 4 suits with the Ace, 2-10, and the court cards so that would be this deck. Maybe even will include a couple Major arcana as the Joker cards. Like "The Fool" and "Death" cards since most playing card decks have 2 jokers anyways. I'm also playing around with a duality idea of each of the court cards having slightly different sides. One being normal and the other side being a bit rough or unkempt. This would make them not perfectly symmetrical which would also be good for using them as Tarot cards since a card being upside down means something different than if it is turned right side up. Most number cards can show upside down except for the diamonds so I still need to figure out that for the 2-10 of diamonds cards. Anyways, I'm rambling on now. So what do you think? Any critiques or suggestions on the design? TL;DR - I'm designing a deck of cards. What do you think?

Having been confined to the house during the Covid pandemic I have taken the opportunity to update the Designer PDF help file to version 1.9 There have been numerous feature additions in this version so you may benefit from updating. I hope you find it useful. I have attached a lower resolution copy of the PDF version of the Affinity Designer IPad apps built in Help file directly to this post. See below. (I have also attached a less compressed (higher resolution) copy's Dropbox “link” to a PDF version). You can open the PDF file in a reader or iBook allowing you to view and search the help file while working on a document in Affinity Designer. All links within the document should be working. I hope you find it as useful as I do. Hi all, I'm Greg, and I run a game development company called Boolean Games. Always liked the Vector art style, so thought I'd give it a go myself. Initially tried Illustrator but disliked the pricing etc, currently on a trial with Affinity so far but I really like it so I'll end up buying it This is roughly the level that I'm at but the inspiration was my 2 year old daughter and a possible design for the feature wall in her newly decorated bedroom.

This is a personal visual meditation on a poem from the Old Testament, Psalm 63. I’ve spent a lot of time this summer working through the tools in Affinity Designer and I am almost at the point where I can use this software comfortably for client-facing work. So far I have created (and recreated) a number of info graphics to see how far I can push the software. My current process is to 1. Biro sketch 2. Structure in AD with simple shapes. 3. Bitmap draft drawing in Clip Studio on IPad (the tools I have set up there work the most intuitively for me). 4. Ink/shade it with the basic brush in AD on iPad. 5. Some tweaking back and forth between the iPad and Mac versions of AD. The interface is easier on my big screen Mac when it comes to manipulating lots of layers - something I think AD on iPad stills needs some work with. Thankyou to the Affinity team for creating a superb set of tools that feel like a dream come true.

I've been trying to export several files from Affinty Designer on the iPad that has text in it. The text has been converted to curves, but I am still getting blocky letters in the file export. If I export as SVG and say export text to curves it works fine (even though I have done this in the file itself). Any suggestions? I have tried converting to curves multiple times and still not working right.

Is there any option to resize multiple diffrent object at once in Affinity Designer? For exmaple I have 3 diffrent rectangle selected and I would like to change sizes of these rectangles to 20x20 mm each. I couldn't find anything like that in Designer.

So I have these Vector styles I'm wanting to make. Supposedly it's worked on other things I've done but I can't figure out why it's not working now it only either does the outline or a whole fill category? I do have a pattern that was successfully with hashes but I can't figure out HOW I got that to work. It was from a pattern I had found on my Adobe Stock for Illustrator. And that shows like it's a curve... So I guess what I need to do is maybe make a brush with what I want, place the brush and have it be in the "Fill" area and then make the style?

Hello, Please forgive me as I am new to Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. I have used Photoshop for over 10 years and Illustrator for 5 years. I am using Affinity Designer to create video game assets. Whatever I draw on one side of the character, I want on the other side. I am using live mirroring using the Symbols feature to achieve this. However, I want my entire design to have a border around it. If I mark one side to have a black border, the mirror will have a border as well. However, there is a vertical line going all the way down the center of the object. Also, if I attempt to fix this by applying a basic square above the two layers using the same background color as the character body to correct this center border issue, for some reason I am able to see the vertical line when I export. It just looks like a darker shade of the background color. I have checked and I do not have any kind of transparency. So I am not entire sure why it is not correctly masking this issue. Does anybody have any ideas or recommendations on how to apply a mirror image and a border around the entire object? Thanks!
