How to duplicate object easily. Using ctrl + j. -
Hi, The shortcut to duplicate objects in the drawing area suddenly stopped working for one of my documents. I just tried to create a new document in the same AD instance (2 open tabs) and it works in the latter. What did I do to disable it? Is there a way to reactivate it? Thanks in advance, Simone. -
All new text, artistic text, or text frames all have a brown/red background when I create them. The background color is set to transparent. While I can set them to a different color, I can not set them to transparent. Is it some setting I overlook?

I do hundreds of the history portraits, first in AP then imported into AD where I use half a dozen export sizes. I used the paint mixer brush for Rodin, the rest mostly regular brush. I really wish the paint mixer brush worked better. I do have my wacom table mixer brush set for C & L. But the mixer brush is just not as good as painter or photoshop, which I've mostly given up for Affinity Photo. I do have hope that it will get better in future versions

Hi, I have been searching for information on the max resolution for creating vector brushes. Or maybe there is a resolution that is optimal? To specify I need to make brushes that will be printable on a printing press without any pixelation effects. I have used a workaround in the past be vectorising the result in inkscape and re-imporing into designer. Inscape because it has an auto-trace-function. this is very time consuming when you are creating complex work that you have to be able to take apart into different layers. So, I have decided to try creating my own custom "vector"-brushes to speed up the work. In order to get everything optimized I hunted around for all the facts I need to create optimal brushes off of the bat. But I had no luck in finding out about resolution constraints - specifically max resolution possible and if there is no cap, at which point does it become software breaking? The Affinity Help ends on "open file" - lol. Cheers Jens -

Hi guys! After being busy animating 66 different animals 🐵🐘 (around 80 on the map, happily moving in real-time) and doing a lot of designing, illustrating and programming for the map itself I'm happy to share the final result of the new Interactive Safari Park Map! 😀 Next to everything being illustrated and animated and having some nice features to make using it fun, it also has animated flowing water, stays sharp when zooming in and has a 2-clicks (!) route planner for each safari! Map graphics, icons and all animals on it are happily drawn with Affinity Designer! 😀 Love its speed and can't stress enough how much time using the export tab alone saves each time! Having a fast workflow just makes everything way much more fun and let us concentrate and use time on what is really important! Hello one & all 👋 Is it possible to use Affinity Designer to split up a single image(a photo of my grandson) into multiple body part so that I can animate each body part in another application? Any help would be much appreciated 🤞 PS: I'm using a MacBook Air 2020 M1 -

Not been drawing for a while so thought I'd update the Thunderbolt II to celebrate 100 Years of Indiana ANG. The Mig 29 was inspired by the stories of the Ghost of Kiev. Seemingly now debunked by the Ukrainian AF, but still a good story.

I needed to quickly put together a web based lesson at my academic institution about the importance of making sure unauthorized individuals don't access the research facilities. I wrote a script and then used Affinity Designer on iPad to draw the illustrations. I got a coworker to provide the voice-over and put the pieces together using LumaFusion video editor. I created simple abstract characters so there is no racial or ethnic attachments to the unauthorized character. I used the institution's color branding. The illustrative skills are rather simplistic, with the focus on the message. Affinity Designer on the iPad allowed me to generate the images quickly and get management approval.

My latest digital painting effort. A strange world on the edge of the milky way, featuring mermaids, nonapuses and lollipop spaceships. Nonaptych versions can been visualised at @minimowlism and @MNMWLSM on Instagram. Figured out how to draw rocks and mermaids now 👍 Also discovered a use for Inner Glow - I found that by adding a 0.1px effect (white) to some of the rocks layers helped them blend together better and smoothed some of the edges.

Hi! I'm trying to make a mood board with squares that have drop shadows. In the squares, I put my images. When I tried it out today, the drop shadow took on the image instead of remaining black like I intended. (Please see screenshots.) How do I stop this and keep the drop shadow black?

Even though start is a word, spell check says that start is not a word & it marks it as not spelled correctly. Notice the squiggly line under the word Start. (See Picture)

I switched from Affinity Designer for the IPad from Illustrator cs3 I'm looking for a feature like paint bucket on illustrator cs3 to fill the areas that are delimited by individual lines, instead of closed paths The screenshot shows these individual lines and their limited areas, which I want to fill with different colors Interactive painting doesn't seem to work with Affinity Designer, What is the solution- That I don't just have to draw closed paths to fill them with color.
