I needed to quickly put together a web based lesson at my academic institution about the importance of making sure unauthorized individuals don't access the research facilities. I wrote a script and then used Affinity Designer on iPad to draw the illustrations. I got a coworker to provide the voice-over and put the pieces together using LumaFusion video editor. I created simple abstract characters so there is no racial or ethnic attachments to the unauthorized character. I used the institution's color branding. The illustrative skills are rather simplistic, with the focus on the message. Affinity Designer on the iPad allowed me to generate the images quickly and get management approval.

My latest digital painting effort. A strange world on the edge of the milky way, featuring mermaids, nonapuses and lollipop spaceships. Nonaptych versions can been visualised at @minimowlism and @MNMWLSM on Instagram. Figured out how to draw rocks and mermaids now 👍 Also discovered a use for Inner Glow - I found that by adding a 0.1px effect (white) to some of the rocks layers helped them blend together better and smoothed some of the edges.

Hi! I'm trying to make a mood board with squares that have drop shadows. In the squares, I put my images. When I tried it out today, the drop shadow took on the image instead of remaining black like I intended. (Please see screenshots.) How do I stop this and keep the drop shadow black?

Even though start is a word, spell check says that start is not a word & it marks it as not spelled correctly. Notice the squiggly line under the word Start. (See Picture)

I switched from Affinity Designer for the IPad from Illustrator cs3 I'm looking for a feature like paint bucket on illustrator cs3 to fill the areas that are delimited by individual lines, instead of closed paths The screenshot shows these individual lines and their limited areas, which I want to fill with different colors Interactive painting doesn't seem to work with Affinity Designer, What is the solution- That I don't just have to draw closed paths to fill them with color.

I cant delete a red marked Layer Its don't disappear , see my Screenshot, its displayed in every document from Affinity Designer for ipad the delete Funktion doesn't work and I do not realize Why its happend How I can avoid this in Future? I dont know what happend if I try a new Instalation of the program Affinity Designer

Hello, i am not sure if this is a bug or a misunderstood feature, but; I made a symbol, Used the symbol inside an asset Using the same asset, i've made changes and created a new asset. Now when i drag this asset on the file, symbol duplicates by itself in the assets panel. Attached you may find a screecast. Is this a bug or am i missing something? I haven’t been on the forum for a while… These are a couple of recent works. They are from a novel that grew from the ten years I lived and worked on First Nations reserves in the north of Manitoba and Ontario. The floral mandala is from beading in the Swampy Cree culture. The texture in the lettering is a photo of tanned moose hide. The figure is a character from the novel… a shape-shifting shaman called Agak (Raven in Ojibway). The picture without type is an imagined representation of the Wendigo from Cree, Saulteaux, and Ojibway cultures. Hope all here have survived Covid and are faring well…

I am using Mac Pro 2019 with Asus PA32UCX. Monitor colour was calibrated. However When I open the file with Preview and Affinity Designer, the colour is totally different. The print screen is attached here. The left one is Expansion Slot Utility and right one is print screen of that. They both are same colour but soon as I add to Affinity Designer, the colour is washed out and totally different. Which one is correct one ? How can I match the colour or get accurate colour ?

I just found out that it is possible to Drag and Drop Pictures directly from the Browser to an Affinity Designer's Document, which I find perfect for quick working and brainstorming. My question is - since the picutres are not linked - are they then embedded in the doc and the docs size will increase the more pictures I drop there? Since pictures from the net are relatively small (in Data-Size) it shouldn't be a big thing to have - lets say 100 oder 200 pictures dropped in? The document also does not become buggy from it, right? Does anybody have insight on that? Would be helpful. Thanks in Advance! Roya -
In Affinity Designer, under the vector persona, on a vector layer, using the vector brush I have the option of using some pencil brushes. Are these truly vector? I draw a line, the line itself is editable but is it truly generating vector texture or applying raster texture to my vector line work? IF say, I want to create hand lettered logos in vector with a realistic pencil texture is this the way to go or will that texture actually be unscalable raster? I’ve tried selecting drawn lines and “creating curve” and “expanding stroke” but either way, it just looks like the texture is not converting to a shape, instead it appears raster... Any insights appreciated! Thank you!

Umm. Sorry if that title isn't great. I couldn't think of a better way to word it. Anyway the problem is I created a picture (in this case, a teddy bear) out of curves: I'd like to be able to colour in individual sections like this (without rasterising it and using the paint bucket like I did for this example): But the whole thing is sort of a mess of curves, e.g. for that part of the face, it uses all of these: Is there an easy (or hard, as long as it works) way I can get just the perimeter for each enclosed area as its own shape, so I can just set the fill for each area? I can't just rasterise a high res version and fill each area, because I need curves, preferably individual ones for each area, I'm intending to use this for 3D printing (which means I'll probably have to export it as an SVG, but that would just be a bunch of closed curves anyway.... I hope). Thanks in advance for the help!

Designer 1.10.5.1342, Windows 10. Not a major problem. I create a new document, 110mm w x 210mm h, portrait with 10mm margins. I click on Document Setup and change the width to 90mm, then OK. The margins readjust as expected but the overall width remains at 110mm. Zooming in or out clears the problem and resets the dimensions.

Hello, I am trying to use color #4168F7 and when I use it in Designer, it's completely wrong. In Publisher, however it is correct. I am attaching the color it should be versus how it is appearing in Designer. What is happening?

This was an exercise to create (graphic) more or less realistic vector artwork in Affinity Designer, that is capable of creating organic shapes (curves and strokes).
