  1. We've made the offer July 23rd inclusive, until midnight. What country's Mac App Store are you using?
  2. Hi everyone In case you didn't know, AFFINITY PHOTO HAS LAUNCHED and is in the Mac App Store now. I could say a ton about how fantastic the app is and give you so much information, but it's already out there on our website, so I'll just give you some links! Mac App Store shortcut Affinity Photo web page Awesome promo video Affinity Photo full features page with system requirements Affinity Photo blog post about the launch Launch Tweet - please retweet if you can Launch Facebook post - and please share too :) Obviously the whole team is delighted to see today after so much work, the devs have done an incredible job. Thank you all too for your part in helping the app grow during the beta test. Dale.

  4. Yes Mushr00m, we'll be updating the Affinity Mac App Store apps together to maintain compatibility. The current Affinity Designer customer beta will become a Mac App Store update on the same day that Affinity Photo launches.
  5. There are no external influences delaying anything, it's not late at all it's just cooking to perfection. If your buddy can stretch working hours without causing exhaustion or make the dev team type faster, he's a special sort!
  6. Affinity Photo is weeks not months away now, we're getting excited here too!
  7. Hi Al, the trial is secure on purpose so that it can not be used repeatedly, sorry. The dev team 'reset' the trial on April 2nd so that people who had previously installed an older trial version of Affinity Designer could download a fresh release and evaluate the new features we added to v1.2. If your expired trial was used after April 2nd there is no way to reset it. However, it is on offer right now so that's another option. If you have specific questions maybe the team or other forum members could help you decide if the app is what you want?
  8. Yep, hold the alt key while dragging the node or segment you want to adjust and the segments either side of it will be unaffected.
  9. You can see some wireframes/selected objects for this illustration over on Isabel's Behance page https://www.behance.net/gallery/6940087/Bubble-100-Vector-4-Different-Software-Comparative. The awesome bubble has been recreated in multiple apps, looks fantastic.
  10. Yes sorry for that, MEB is right, you need to use an isometric grid. In the beta version of Affinity Designer you will find a Grid and Axis Manager in the View menu. You can set up a nice 3-axis grid that will make this kind of illustration far easier to achieve compared to using the current Mac App Store release of the app. Uncheck Use automatic grid to set up a grid with your own choice of spacing, choosing a preset like Isometric from the drop-down list to make it easy if you wish.
  11. Yes you can achieve this with Affinity Designer; it will be easier if you use the recent Customer Beta version as it includes some grid and snapping improvements specifically for this kind of illustration. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/15-affinity-designer-beta (go to the top post of the top thread in the linked forum). The Affinity Designer Customer Beta requires that you have the Mac App Store version also installed, and it will work alongside it indefinitely (although we recommend you update it when prompted). If you do not have the Mac App Store version of Affinity Designer installed, the Customer Beta release can only work as a 10 day trial. Cheers, Dale.
  12. The bosses have mentioned free updates for 2 years or thereabouts (from launch). It seems a good amount of time to ensure value for money and of course amazing apps.
  13. Hi everyone We're over the moon to announce that Affinity Designer has been recognised by Apple with a prestigious Apple Design Award at WWDC 2015 in San Francisco. Congratulations to the whole SerifLabs team for such a remarkable achievement, 5 years in the making. It's the stuff of dreams, thanks to all our fans and forum participants for helping to make it an awesome reality. Read more at https://affinity.serif.com/blog/affinity-designer-wins-prestigious-apple-design-award Dale, on behalf of everyone at Serif.
  14. The 800x600 versus 600x800 issue could be resolved by entering max width, max height, with a Maintain aspect ratio checkbox. At least that's how another Serif title handles this for batch processing, which is a step further than export presets.
  15. For raster brushes you can fix the texture scale using Final in the Mode dropdown in the brush texture settings. Hope this is what you're after.
  16. Yep there's an option in Affinity Designer > Preferences > User Interface. The options are available for both lines and text in points.
  17. I love that your client has meant you can stay within Affinity Designer for the whole project including hand off. Nice colourful work Kevin. It's a good day, you're a driver of a new workflow. You've gone a fair way to showcase how useful AD is, the results are done to a tee, they never look rough, and I'm sure it's down in part to the way you slice them too.
  18. That's not what Kate said, jxl. - If you write a book about Serif/Affinity you do not need permission but should probably post a disclaimer stating we were not involved. - Serif owns the copyright for all Affinity software, and all Affinity and Serif logos/branding. Any use of these would require obtaining a written permission from us and we would need to approve an outline of your project. Thanks.
  19. MEB commented on the AD logo background first - then carried on hmm, wait, it's *all* good! B) Meaning the foreground is as well. :D
  20. No need to apologise :) I've deleted the old topic, thanks ravingdave.
  21. You can switch lines between Points and document units in Preferences, Jackamus. Same for Text too. Cheers.
