  1. They’re also too close together. Each of the ß and À characters in that screenshot collides with the characters in the line immediately above.
  2. When one of the Shape Tools is active, a ‘Keep selected’ checkbox is displayed on the Context toolbar. Make sure there’s a tick in that box.
  3. The Export Persona is complicated because it’s so flexible. If you don’t need that flexibility, you can simply choose ‘Export…’ from the File menu to export all or selected parts of the current document.
  4. Of course it can! ‘Community led’ simply means that decisions are informed by views that members of the community have expressed. There is no obligation on company officials to inform community members about the nature of any decisions or the process by which those decisions were reached.
  5. Too many occurrences of the word “that”! And rather lacking in punctuation, too, which results in the reader having to do a lot of work to unravel the meaning.
  6. Not necessarily. The way Adobe seems to do things is that you can reactivate your subscription as and when the need arises, so that instead of paying for a whole year you can pay for just a month or two. The cost per month will be higher, of course, but the overall cost will be significantly lower than it would be for a largely unused annual subscription.
  7. Ash has always been refreshingly ‘hands on’ in the software development side of things, right back to the days when (as Sales and Marketing Director, if I remember correctly) he pushed through his idea of a digital scrapbooking product which became hugely popular as Serif CraftArtist.
  8. “Spell check won’t save you!” *then start As I’m sure you know, you need to hold down the Ctrl key while starting the app, since it won’t work if you release the key too soon. But I’m sure the OP knows this, too.
  9. *Creative Another tiddler: the Spanish version says “Sesiones de Creatividad de YouTube…” with a capital C (cf. “Visite los foros de asistencia…”) Correctly capitalized (i.e. initial cap only) in APub 2.4.2 on Windows.
  10. There are various ways of desaturating an image. Did you apply a Black & White adjustment, or an HSL adjustment with the saturation dialled all the way down, or did you use a different method? Are the adjustment layers nested to the top copy of the image, or grouped with it? Does that step produce no result, or simply an unexpected result? (I can’t imagine that you’re unable to get past that step in the literal sense of being blocked from doing anything else to the image.)
  11. In any workflow where deleting artboards is needed — whether commonly or not — the single extra first step of either deleting the contents or moving it off the artboard will leave you with an empty artboard, rendering the retention question moot.
  12. WYSIWYG Web Builder (from Pablo Software Solutions) is often recommended for users of Serif WebPlus who are looking for alternative software that offers responsive or adaptive capabilities.
  13. It’s on the Home Screen (under ‘New’ in version 2 or ‘+’ in version 1).
  14. Interesting. Until now I thought SEPA was nothing more than the acronym for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
  15. Did you try ‘+ > New From Clipboard’ or did you only try ‘Edit > Paste’?
  16. I can see that the ‘Text’ container layer has 100% opacity, but what about the ‘ANDERSON’ text object? Have you changed the blend mode for any of the layers in the document, or are they all ‘Normal’?
  17. As @thomaso suggested three weeks ago: In other words, post in your native language and leave it to the reader to discern the meaning.
  18. Welcome back to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Cecilie. Your question is impossible to answer without a great deal more information from you. If you can’t share the document here, please attach a screenshot of the Layers panel, fully expanded, and briefly describe the steps you took to get to that point.
  19. My first thought was that a jacket flap width of 105 mm is rather large for a book whose front cover is 210 mm wide, and that 70 mm — i.e. one third of the front cover’s width — should suffice, but when I looked it up online a few minutes ago I saw a recommendation of 50% to 60% (or 105 mm to 126 mm for the present example).
  20. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Mike. The 'Allow selection to consider items inside a group' option in version 1 was replaced in version 2.1 by an Auto-select dropdown which appears in the Context toolbar when the Move tool is active. Selecting ‘Objects’ from the dropdown list has the same effect as the superseded option from version 1. Edit: Please see @GarryP’s screenshot.
  21. Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Andy7771. I see that what you have there is not just a starfish, but a Texan starfish! You can’t perform step 2 in the current version of Affinity Designer or Photo. If you don’t want to redraw the entire starfish from scratch, you’ll need to use a third-party vectorizer.
  22. It would be clearer if it were expressed as ‘Version 2.4.2 of Publisher 2 is now available’ or ‘the latest version of Publisher 2 (2.4.2) is now available’.
  23. No, you didn’t say anything wrong! I agree with what you said, but I’m concerned about the OP’s apparent state of mind.
