  1. Control+LM on the layer of the shape I want to use as the mask, then clicking on the mask icon.
  2. No. Not at all. The image is just the size of the selection line you can see on my screenshot. All other images and layers are about the size of the artboard. The gigantic mask size isn't random, though: For some reason, it's the size of the area of all the artboards I have on this document.
  3. Technically, it is. The mask itself is working fine. The problem is with the mask size, which is always turning out many times larger than the artboard, as shown on my screenshot. Is there any way to fix that? Artboards are an essential part of my workflow.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with masks in Affinity Designer. I'm masking a simple object, but instead of getting restricted to the artboard, the mask itself is always turning out gigantic. Check out my screenshots to better understand what I'm talking about. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you in advance, R
  5. Aaaaaaah! Thank you so much! This was driving me crazy!
  6. Hi everyone, Something changed in the last updates. Before that, after creating a shape, a rectangle, for example, that newly created shape would remain selected. Now, Designer drops the selection immediately after the shape is created. Is there anything I can do to revert to the previous system? Thank you.
  7. Hi Dan, Thank you for your reply. Currently, the only software causing constant crashes in my PC is Affinity. I use many different design software, so if it's a driver issue as you say, Affinity is directly causing it. About the corrupted file, I thought you had a system in place to prevent such things. When Affinity crashes, which happens regularly, it always offers to open a "recovery version". Isn't this "recovery version" backed up somewhere?
  8. Hi Walt. Yes, the file was saved, but it didn't crash during the saving process if that's what you're asking. It crashed while I was scrolling through different fonts on a text box. This kind of crash is new to me, by the way. It usually crashes mostly when I send files from Designer to Photo, or vice-versa. I don't have a backup. I back up my files weekly, not on an hourly basis. Affinity crashes all the time but it never ended with a corrupted file before. If I lose this file, I lose the 15 hours I've worked on it and at least 5 more hours to redesign it from scratch.
  9. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm on Windows 11, and no, there are no shadow copies. Honestly, I'm a bit desperate here. This has truly shaken my trust in Affinity.
  10. Hi, anyone? This is urgent. I've been using Affinity professionally for years, and this never happened to me. The latest 2.0 versions have been a crash fest, and now this... I'll lose considerable time and money if I have to start this project again from scratch. Please, help.
  11. Hi everyone, I was working on a project for a client in Affinity Designer 2.4.0, and suddenly, while I was testing different fonts for a logo, it crashed Windows 11 (blue screen of death). When I restarted the computer, Affinity Designer didn't open the file anymore, stating that it appeared to be corrupted. I'm a professional branding and packaging designer. I charge hourly, and I've already worked 15 hours on this project. In other words, this file is extremely important, and I need someone from the Affinity team to jump in and help me urgently. I've attached the file to this message. Please, anyone, help! Thank you in advance. Tres Five logo.afdesign
  12. Thank you so much, Walt. I didn't even know this feature existed.
  13. Hi everyone, Is there any way to make the "select same fill/color" tool in Affinity Designer NOT select assets from other artboards too? Thank you!
  14. Hi Chris, I use Driver Booster to make sure everything is always up do date, so yes, graphics card and all peripherals are using the latest drivers. Affinity is pretty much the only software I use that's crashing my PC, so most likely it's something on your end, not mine. My mouse polling rate is 130 hz.
  15. Hi Chris, It seems that they are crashing without saving reports, though. It's going straight to Windows blue screen of death, maybe that's why. My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. I tried disabling/enabling OpenCL, but it didn't make any difference. The performance is still unstable, although they appear to crash less with OpenCL disabled. Thank you.
