  1. Is the beta near? I almost killed ID yesterday afternoon, its came to mess up my actual project... Just took my mouse and spoke out loud : you don't know me ID, you really don't! After few breaths... ID was gone... Now I will clean my PC (reinstall MS Windows) & leave it quiet until APub is around. ... And guys! I like your propositions about production etc... I'm sure I will bleed a lot but APub will go to production the first day it's release, sourced and installed on my PC/Mac. @Alfred would you be my bestman for my Publishing wedding with APub???
  2. Facing the same issue me too but I believe (if you are running windows version) you need to update your system to latest release and try again. I will give mine another try when possible very soon.
  3. Whooow great job. I'm really amazed. Was this done with Affinity? If not, then... No worries, was just asking
  4. Hello everybody Sorry to open this new thread, maybe it was already asked in another one but your ideas may help a lot. Case: a team of 3 peoples, a designer making all vector and illustration work, a second designer doing all photo works (everything related to photo) then the last one to be the Project Manager/Overseer who actuality should actually correct, control etc the work (in progress) Questions: 1- What solution do you think Serif should implement that will empower or help creative team to make amazing jobs using affinity? 2- How would you solve that with the actual release of Affinity? Important: i'm talking here about something close to real time collaboration with multiuser file access in a LAN or over an Internet location/cloud storage for those with super Internet speed.
  5. @Marc Tha Mac just give it a try ad see if it satisfy your needs. Affinity products uses a different ecosystem compared to other solutions but this is for now only, who knows about tomorrow. My case, I trashed Affinity twice (older version) because of personal belief but never succeeded doing flat design with what I called "top ranked gun" The day I came back to Affinity I realized one precious thing : certain tools help you release tears creativity in you. Give it a try and make use of those simple stuffs you already (Google drive, icloud, Dropbox, etc) have to help you share among devices and just enjoy life
  6. Congratulation Serif. This is great moment. Keep making good products and good choices. Cheers !
  7. Hi @TextusGames That one i know but i was talking about something correctly working for all layers and not like the one we actually have which is working on one layer then not working on the other one etc... i believe that possibility to allow us set colors to working layers in a proper way without it bugging will be of great help.
  8. hi @Sabor ahve you checked videos that talks about Masking? Maybe what you need is to understand masks and make use of them. i myself didn't catch up how they work and how to use them in previous days using other products on the market. With Affinity they just work and are easy to use, give it a try !
  9. Hi Devs Team Want to know if it will be possible to apply color to layers. i've seen something like in actual version but still it's not working by default. being able to set color to layer will help find our way into design projects as sometime, naming a layer is not always enough.
  10. ... Yes but what value sketchbook brings on the table when one have Affinity products installed? Want to know because I feel like I'm missing something here
  11. Nice news. Please tell me, do i need sketchbook when I have Designer installed? What makes them of good teaming? I personally use APhoto + ADesigner for creations then I join Sketch 49 when it comes to web stuffs (UI/UX) I keep for learning purpose (I still need to learn more about Prototype technology from sketch) So, I ask... Sketchbook teaming with Affinity?
  12. @Vince42 Simply check if @firstdefence savez the project with it's history. If yes then you duplicate the project and learn from there. If no, then maybe a macro (created by first defense) of building a glass should help you automate this but also learn. One way or another, you will receive needed help
  13. @KateM for more colors into this marvelous growing ecosystem, I would suggest the web team also consider to build an affinity app for both Mac and Windows (desktop/phone/tablets) See, browsing the web using web browsers is fine but when they fail or get slow we also fail with also, design softwares eats a lot of memory and web browsers also but apps can do less than that. I believe a dedicated app is a great thing aswe are more in a mobile generation/world. From that one place we should : Access the forum Received news alerts Browse spotlight and even more. Don't know one have the same proposition or if it pleases to gents here but me I think "everything from the same place" is a good thing. It will help close my webbrowser saving more memory and just read the feeds as they are released in the network (only content I follow and subscribe to, not everything)
  14. This is Nice and very helpful. Thanks @Ciaphas
  15. Okay i see ! not good, i wanted to give a try to PP9 as i expected to be able to keep the same already done work to be revisited with APub. if not possibe then not possible ! Thanks @myclay
  16. hi @Ansori Freelancer please upload the said file so you can get help !
  17. hi @davemike i have read your comment and disagreement about Affinity products and i can understand but... please, bear with me into this. See i've been doing IT for 14 years non stop, when i say IT i mean Real technical stuffs that most users don't want to talk about. at some stage when no one even believed or wanted to dare listen, i really believed Linux was the freedom and deliverer of the entire ecosystem so i just connected and started to walk with that hard and non complete O.S that most users couldn't understand, accept to see installed on their computer and even i was rejected by my friends (IT like me) most saying : one day you will be back, you son of Microsoft birthed by the desire of windows. for many years i was in he middle world using Linux as my personal O.S (also enjoying to breakc stuff and see the O.S become better and better day after day) but not even my emplyers liked what i liked .... until .... few weeks ago when i read: Microsoft is launching it's Linux O.S ... Look... i smiled and was happy because i knew i did not waisted all this time learning and commandlining etc... Yet i'm using a Mac currently but, it's even because Mac runs Unix like stuffs in it and i really at home with better UI. Why am i sharing this story with you? it's because like me (in my old days), you maybe fedup Adobe products and just want to cut the rope but i would suggest you keep learning from ID, QXP and even PP9, one day when APub is released you will find yourself even ready but also peaceful enough to raise good ideas that will help to make it even better. Don't quit, find peace in your heart about that but keep learning what you already know ! Myself i don't want to focus too much on APub otherwise i maybe disapointed if i put too much expectations and presure on myself but i invest enough time to learn from ID, day after day and the day APub is out i will be eady and have a better point of view and will be able to bring better help ! Find PEace of Heart dear, you are strong and creative enough to give up !
  18. I like what spotlight is. Really love the customizable keyboards shortcuts in other thing than PDF. Thanks and please improve it even more. You have my support dear.
  19. Guys one thing I want to know here, will affinity publisher be able to import/open PP9 files/projects? If yes, then it's worth to install learn and work with it then progressively migrate to APub as it becomes mature. Please Serif make it possible to import/open PP9 projects/files.
  20. Hi @R C-R can you please share with both of us how you do that? This is new to me and can be a life saving technic for many. Thanks !
  21. Nice to read. Try and make sure you increase the dpi at least to 300dpi or more. To put myself out of troubles I always use 600dpi or 1200dpi when it comes to printing. Also ask the printing company what type of CMYK they are using. Have realized there are couple of different CMYK's type out there
