  1. This isn’t an issue when copy pasting within designer, this happens exclusively when copying from adobe illustrator and pasting into affinity designer. The copy svg setting won’t affect this because the copy step happens in illustrator. Doesn't look like illustrator has any settings like this this for copying.
  2. This is more of an annoyance than a bug, but when you copy basic vector objects from Adobe Illustrator and paste them into Affinity Designer, Designer always creates a superfluous layer and inserts the pasted objects into it. This has the added inconvenience of objects within layers not allowing you to use the cmd+[ and cmd+] commands to z-order objects within layers until they are removed from a layer. So the workflow forces you to paste from illustrator, select all objects within the layer, remove objects from layer on layer panel, delete layer then continue editing. Could it be adjusted to just paste the objects without creating extra layers in designer when pasting from Illustrator? I do a lot of cross platform work for my job and this has bugged me for months, haha. Thanks so much! (video attached - shows me pasting an object set from illustrator, then removing them from the layer to be able to adjust z-order, the extra layer isn't needed and causes inconvenience) Screen_Recording_2020-09-04_at_12_02.42_PM.mov
  3. Sure, here is a video. First 10 seconds or so shows me trying to open .afdeisgn files from icloud. Both from the files app (which opens them in Photo), and from inside affinity designer (which opens them correctly, but notice how all the afd files have afp icons). Second 5 seconds or so shows me opening from 'on my ipad' - afd files open in afp and have purple icons. Last 5 seconds show me delete photo, and files return to opening in designer correctly and have the correct icons My_project_2.mp4
  4. For some reason, and for a long time now (months at this point), when i have Affinity Photo installed on my ipad, it steals the file associations for .afdesign files away from Designer. The icon shows as the purple icon for designer files, and if i tap them to open them, they open in photo. If i delete Af Photo, the Designer files return to having their proper blue icons and open in designer, but if i reinstall Photo, they revert back to opening in the wrong application. I've attached a screenshot of my iCloud drive files on my iPad showing .afdesign files with purple photo icons. It's a weird bug for sure. I've tried removing all files from the icloud folders, deleting the icloud folders, reinstalling the apps and recreating the icloud folders by saving new files in the apps, but photo still takes over afdesign file associations on ipad. Desktop is obviously unaffected.
  5. When you copy(cut) and paste on the main canvas or any artboard, the item pastes in-place, exactly where copied item is, this is the expected behavior. When you copy/paste outside of an artboard in the gray pasteboard area, the pasted item respects the Y(vertical) axis position but arbitrarily places itself on the X axis in a seemingly random spot. It would be great to be able to have the same "paste in place" functionality outside of the artboards also. Screen_Recording_2020-04-24_at_8_38.15_AM.mov
  6. Omg I’m an idiot, I just messed around with it and found out that you can click the end nodes a second time to grab just the one. Wow, nevermind my last question.
  7. I thought that might be the reason. Is there a way to have the left and right pressure disjointed on the desktop app like you can in the iPad app? They always move together on desktop and the only way to make a thick to thin is this sort of instant pressure gain.
  8. Hi, submitting a file that has a bug with rounded caps on stroke expansion for you to play with. Designer file attached. Branch.afdesign
  9. @whitewolf7070 you hit the nail on the head. I can think of one missing feature in affinity thats causing me a headache (this one, haha)... but we could all probably play the “what is missing in adobe after 20 years” game all day. InDesign is missing an HSL color pallet, the most fundamental of color pickers. Double click a color and what pops up is a joke, and it’s not even funny... You can’t copy paste vector objects into photoshop and edit them without that stupid cop-out smart objects feature. Smart objects are an excuse for incompatibility, they are not smart, they are an excuse. ILLUSTRATOR DOESNT HAVE A NODE TOOL. Let me repeat. ILLUSTRATOR. DOESNT. HAVE. A. NODE. TOOL. You want to compare fundamental missing features in a vector design app. Seriously, everyone comparing affinity to adobe, show me something even close to the seamless inter-app compatibility that serif provides with a shared file format and StudioLink.
  10. I have kids, and when they act like spoiled brats, I purposely don't give them what they want. If you people think this software is so awful because of one missing feature in VERSION 1.X, then please just go back to using Adobe and stop being such a jerk in these forums. You won't get what you want by slinging insults.
  11. Ok, this is a little weird to explain, but in illustrator when you create a single object that overlaps itself, and the fill mode is set to winding, you can use the boolean add operation to combine the object with itself to create a solid final object. I've attached a video to show what I mean. In affinity the add function is disabled for a single object, and multiple overlapping options with the add function do not behave in this way. This would be useful for drawing letterforms with loops, since a sweeping loop is easier to keep accurate when you can just overlap the previous line, then combine into a solid object after the fact. 12. I lost about 2 hours worth of work one time because of this. Apparently saving from the "save" option while the file is still open only saves to the local storage, and you have to save again to icloud before "closing" - i though pressing save while the file was open saved to icloud, and BOOP, gone forever. I threw something that day, not sure if that something broke or not.
  13. WOW! I would use the heck out of that tool! Good suggestion!
  14. Upon further research, looks like i was right. #tootmyownhorn Looks like ProCreate is being hard headed about it. They should listen to their users over following guidelines which are obviously not well implemented. https://procreate.art/discussions/3/6/27331
  15. I think this is intentional, Procreate does exactly the same thing. One swipe up activates the bar (you can see it change a bit) then the second swipe allows it to be used. I actually hate this function as well, especially in procreate. Every time i swipe up to switch apps in ProC, i get a long drawn line up the screen that i have to undo, it's mindbendlingly annoying. I don't notice it in AfDesigner since vector tools don't act like pro-create tools (ie. no brush swipes to undo), but most of us swipe up with purpose, the double swipe is kind of annoying.
