    Hi All,

    See you with nice photos

I suppose that's ok just as long as he remembers to pass it around. The one on the left looks tripped out.

Started this painting in Corel PhotoPain(t) until it began crashing beyond repair. Continued in Affinity Photo (that has much better dynamic brushes). Inspired by a painting made by Howard Terpning. The bloke sitting second from the right is preparing a huge joint.

So impressed with AD....had to resort to embedded files with this one but handled 1000's of vector objects brilliantly..
Again based on a sketch from 2017 Inktober Project
    All vector

Portait of the German writer Thomas Mann, created with afphoto (various brushes). In exile (USA) he fought against the Nazi state, and there he said: Where I am is Germany. Thomas Mann was born in my hometown Lübeck, where there are also many facilities and memories of him (Buddenbrookhaus).

Not exactly a movie poster or DVD cover, but it is film related. Quite tame for my standards.
There was a Gerry Anderson event in London, a friend of mine's old English teacher (pictured middle) plays in a group that covers ALL the theme music from Gerry Anderson's TV shows. It was quite a big event - especially for fans.
Anyway. . .a friend of theirs, who likes the sauce, had a bit too much so he asked me to perform a head transplant just for fun.
The unsuspecting fan (bottom middle) became the unwitting recipient of the joke.

Well. . .another sub forum could be created called "Share your risqué work here."
Now that would be an eye opener!
But seriously. . .I make them for my own personal amusement, and amusing they are! Mainly wallpapers which I distribute amongst friends.

Another project done. I love transforming these rather bland pictures into something that can please one's eyes (or at least I hope it does ).

For anyone that's interested in "making of":
First I made a dark-coloured background, put my model on top of it, duplicated the model two times, used motion blur on both of these new layers with blend mode set to Lighten, and then adjusted it with curves to bring some colors, darken the shadows and make the highlights shine more through the blur.
Next step involved masking some unwanted elements like blur around the face. I only wanted the light trails coming from the motion, which I then enhanced with low flow, 0% hardness brush. Also, an HSL adjustment on the second copy of the model.
Smoke was created with simple brush from Brusheezy.com.
After that, I created new layer filled with 50% gray, set to Overlay mode, and then played around with dodge and burn to make the image more "dramatic" .
It looked somewhat blurry due to all those effects - fortunately High Pass(created from yet another model copy with Overlay blend mode, 5 px radius) and Clarity filters did the job just well.
From that moment it was a matter of balancing the composition (all layers merged together) with Curves, Vibrance (Normal mode, 100% opacity) and Black&White (Multiply, 50% opacity) adjustment layers.
For some finishing touches I used two Gradient Maps - first set to Lighten with dark blue and pink colors, second one black to blue, opacity 50%, blend mode Overlay. Tweaked with a bit of masking.

All in all, it took me about 2 hours.

I'm not sure why I made this and I'm even more uncertain as to why I'm posting it here I feel as though it helps to have a fun thread every now and then  If anyone else has done face swaps using Affinity I would love to see them and yes that is my real body.

    This is Carina Nebula. 04/03/18

Completely stacked and edited in Affinity Photo from 12x180sec RAW guided images from same kit as above. I do know that proper stacking software does create a cleaner sharper image but takes about thirty minutes. Affinity all done in about a minute.

    Edit Settings:
    Vibrance up all the way
Brightness up 24% - increased nebulosity
Contrast up 41% - reduced the noise (blackened black)

Thats it! Just mucking around finding out what adjustments suit.

    OK second try

This was my first crack at guided astro - Flame Nebula and Horsehead Nebula in Orion.

    Mount:        SW EQ6R
Telescope:  SW ED 80 APO Esprit
    Camera:     Canon D760
    Image:        5x60 sec
    Software:   Affinity Photo

So all the editing that I did was to increase the exposure setting and the Brightness and contrast settings - very minimal.
