In anticipation of a rather rare wintry day here in the "Sunny South" I created the sorrowful scene below from an image that (I must confess) I found somewhere two or three years ago. Unfortunately I cannot provide appropriate attribution to the original image, which I think came from Unsplash. A little selecting, a little Quick Masking, some Refining Selection, some cutting and pasting, some brushed birds, and some Snow Overlays by Paper Farms (assets) and behold! A truly dreary aspect.🥶😀

Well, it's been a funny year for us in the Kasper household: we've left the Isle of Wight and moved back to the North Island (or England, as the natives call it). We're still getting ourselves sorted out, and it hasn't left me much spare time for creating the usual Christmas video. Instead, I've made a Christmas card, with the most authentic portraits of us and a couple of the neighbours. (Yes, they live just across the back fence.)
As you'll no doubt see, I couldn't be bothe didn't have time to draw in the calves' legs -- but it was rather misty at the time anyway!

I typed it four times because there are four pictures. Number 4 is reminding me a bit of certain landscapes found in "Uru" (Myst game).
Wonderful work which has built-in wonder and mystery.

As far as my knowledge goes AP has no direct replacement/alternative to smart blur found in photoshop. If I remember correctly the smart blur - if used to excess - created a smoothed-out painted look to the image? You could try using a live lens blur then setting the blend mode to overlay - that produces good results, but it isn't a smart blur in itself.
Others in here might have a better take on what to do.

Hi all. I've been using affinity for a while for painting so thought Id share a piece I just finished. Apart from the initial design which was done on art studio pro on ipad it was entirely painted in photo. I haven't seen much digital painting done in affinity which is a bit of a shame because the brush engine and general speed is pretty great.
