  1. I remember well getting excited by the CP/M OS text editor long forgotten called Credit short for character edit. We used it back in 1976-1981 on our Intel MDSs compiling 8085 assembly language in protection relay devices. It had advanced features such as macros and search replace which was awesome at the time and certainly beat my previous work on 6800 micros using paper tape teletype which only had one way of editing, scrap and start again 😩
  2. Yes saving to an iCloud folder is simply a save to a local folder. When suitable internet connection and device power is adequate or connected, files are uploaded to Apple servers but remain in local folders until the Apple servers confirm safe complete arrival. Files still exist in local folders and may stay there several weeks/months or years depending upon when they were last accessed taking into account free device storage. Files not accessed for an extended period of time are then deleted and replaced with the iCloud link to conserve device space when needed. If a file updates on another device the iCloud version will be used to replace the local copy.
  3. I have Google Drive Microsoft Onedrive and Drop box from the olden days when I was PC only but none give the performance of iCloud and I barely use the other systems now. For me to get the best out of my expensive devices I choose not to be King Canute and go with the Apple flow - it works and extremely well in my personal experience, including on my legacy Windows 10, my last ever PC.
  4. Whilst I agree that 5GB is low for 2025, and I hope Apple do increase that I have never considered iCloud to be a synch’ing service. iCloud is set up as a master repository rather than a synch’ing service. If any of my devices are stolen/lost/destroyed I know I can be up and running in a very short time on a replacement device. I’m more than happy to pay for iCloud, as it serves as a master repository for all my photos, videos, and data. I do also have multiple TM backups as well for 40+ years of legacy PC data I don’t have in iCloud and occasionally access.
  5. Oh blimey, 32GB storage is very light for a 2019 iPad. I was on 128GB iPad Pro 9.7” back in 2016. Now on 256GB M1 iPad Pro, although still using less than 128GB because I use iCloud intensively to save money.
  6. I install all the iOS/iPadOS, macOS and Serif betas and never had any serious problems in past ten years so will let you know if anything gets broken in time for Serif to fix before full release, after all that is the reason for having beta testers. 😀
  7. Everything will work just fine on iPadOS26....eventually. Don't install the beta if you are concerned, I will be. EDIT: I will be installing all the betas versions once they are on public release so will let you know of any problems I find.
  8. Inpainting brush, clone brush, haze removal filter are your friends, work non-destructively far easier than PS, by working on pixel layers above makes it easy to redo parts you think can be improved.
  9. Welcome to the forums ! Not sure what you mean by composite layers, perhaps you can screenshot with your layers panel open or upload a sample .afdesign document that shows the problem. e.g.
  10. Apart from the online help pages this is your best bet
  11. Ok, then surely all she needs to do is create a duplicate of the image and lock and hide it, then with all adjustments above but not nested, select all of the adjustment layers and the image layer and use Merge Selected. This will result in the original image and the modified image above which will export to psd file ok.
  12. I agree with Walt, adjustments automatically affect everything below them unless nested, show us your layer stack or preferably upload your .afphoto file here.
  13. If it is only with that font perhaps it is corrupt, try getting it from a different source.
  14. You did not complete the change properly, look at the top left of the context toolbar in your video, there is a Tick and a Cross. You must select the Tick mark.
  15. Best not to use Groups, instead select the curves or shapes you want to join and use Geometry->Merge Curves or if that doesn’t work correctly use Geometry -> Add. I also placed everything within your 2000x2000 rectangle so as to act as a clipping mask. Finally I created symbols out of flowers you were using more than once then duplicated and shifted in the transform studio by +/-2000 trick to ensure correct placement for the repeating pattern. Tip: Curves that only have a stroke and no fill will not join with geometry->add so use geometry->merge curves on those. The shapes with fill can be joined with geometry->add or geometry->merge curves.
