Hi Garvey Dixon,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
Does this happen with any file you try to export or just with some specific files? Do you mind attaching one of those that crash on export for us to check please? Also if you could attach the crash report as well it would help (press alt and drag the icon in the crash report window's title to the desktop to create a copy of the crash report). Thank you.@MEB I've had some too. Here is a crash report i've saved.

spoil marketing's surprise
I will try to not spoil it even more. WOW. How can you guys do that? It seems like magic (still wondering if some things wouldn't complicate/conflict with others but...). For those who have bought Publisher but don't have Designer and Photo you should take the 20% discount that is available now because you won't regret. I think you should have call it Powerhouse instead of Publisher . @Patrick Connor you can delete this post if you want

Alright, I have made a brand new document and crashed the damn thing. Recipe is as follows;
Make a symbol which has a clipped element in it. Many instances (nine in my test) on a document and then copy them paste them and do the option drag with the Wacom pen.
Crash. I lost the document but I will try to reproduce it and save it and send it on. Previously I had older drivers for the Wacom I am now up to date with 6.3.34-2.
EDIT: Arrgh, now I can't crash anything. Is that a good thing?
I have that driver version and still crashing... Good for you
Edit: @Old Bruce just use the DuarteCC file i have on top and test.

Sorry for the late reply - I can confirm that I can reproduce it using a Wacom tablet (Intuos Pro small) using the latest 6.3.34-2 drivers. The good news is that it no longer seems to be crashing in the next build, which will be with you soon! If you wouldn't mind just giving it a recheck that would be great!
Thanks again for the persistence!@Sean P I can confirm that this is still happening in the now MAS version. Please on your tests just don't release the pen immediately after dragging, hold it down for 1 or 2 seconds and you'll get a crash. Sometimes i don't need to wait that time because it will crash still when dragging.

I have 1.7.12 and cannot update (shows: "you have the newest...") It even happens when I copy/past an element within 1.7.
Download the .14 version here and i think you will be fine. That .12 version have some problems with embedded documents and other things that have been fixed in .14.

When I try to copy all in the doc C5-Couvert mit-Fenster-links.afdesign and place it in AD 1.7 Beta it crashes immediately, all the time.
I can open your file with .14 beta without problem and copy and paste things without problem. Why don't you open your file with 1.7 beta instead of copy from 1.6?

That's my middle name.
Will check for sure in the next build.

Frustrating, I have tried this and the very first time I had a crash since then nothing. I do have a Wacom tablet.
I still can make it crash at the first or the second time. Just don't release the mouse/pen immediately when dragging. Hold it for 1or 2 seconds.

FWIW, I can't make the beta crash by following your steps with this file on my iMac running macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6 & Affinity Designer 1.7.0.14 RC1. I do not have a Wacom tablet, so I can't test with that.
Thanks, but i've tested again today and have a crash just repeting the steps. Don't know what it could be but i can make it crash with the mouse too. I will wait for the new version and will take a look at this then.
Edit: @R C-R can you please try option drag those 4 in the middle and if not crashing delete those 4 and do it again immediately after?

We believe this has been addressed in the latest (#371) beta build. Please retest this behaviour.
@Patrick Connor This has been fixed in ADesigner .14 and in Publisher .337 it's working ok too. (I didn't tested it in this 371) But i will.

Thanks for the file and video - unfortunately I've been unable to reproduce the issue. The only obvious difference I can see is that I don't have the Brilon_1.2 font on my system. Would you be able to temporarily remove this font and see if you can still reproduce the crash? Also what version of macOS are you using?
Here is the same file with the font converted to curves. I can make it crash this way too. Just a note. I'm using a wacom tablet, but it crashes with the mouse too. Mac OS 10.14.5
Edit: I can make it crash everytime i do the same procedure.

The software will crash if you follow the steps:
1 - Copy all 10 circles (symbols) in the artboard 1
2 - Create a new document (A3 for example) and select for instance the 4 in the midle and alt drag them. Voilá
Video with the recipe and crash report attached
@Sean P i think this one is for you

Thanks for that, I've been playing around with it and found a recipe below the reproduces it which I have passed on to development. Whilst it might not be the same recipe there may be some similarities that cause it, which from what I can tell it is a file getting left behind in username\Library\Application Support\Affinity Designer Beta\autosave\
- Go into Preferences > Performance and turn Auto Save to 30 seconds
- Start a new document
- Draw some shapes on the page to dirty the document and wait 30 seconds so Auto Save has kicked in
- File > Close
-
When asked click on 'Save' and give the file a name and click 'Save'
- At this point the file is saved and closed
- Close Affinity down and reopen it.
- You're now asked to restore the file despite saving it.
Sean You're right. That's the recipe. i've done it.

The saving process is a background process (like in Photoshop). That means, you can continue working on your document, while it is being saved.
Thanks for your reply! This was just a question. When i save a big document in Affinity Designer i have that bar (like the export one) and maybe i've missed it there.
-
I'm working on a relative big images for a banner and noticed that the save bar is not showing (It's supposed to show or not?). I just know that is saved on the top bar changes from "Modified" to just the name of the file.
Video. Watch the video.

No. I've just closed them (the ones i've saved and told no to save on the question when you're closing a document that isn't saved). And i've worked on 4 or 5 more after them (that is the strange thing). At the end of the day i've shutted down the computer normally, and this morning i've turned it on as always. This is happening with Publisher too, but i use AD 95% of the time.
Not a big problem at all.

I'm receiving in Publisher 337 and in this Designer version 14 the message if i want to restore the file when opening the software, but on the last save everything goes fine... but this is not happening all the times...
So here is a video showing what happened today when i started my machine and oppened the AD Beta. I've just restored the files to see what they are. Just a note. The left file was saved so i don't understand why is there, the middle one was not because i just needed it exported which i've done and the green one i've saved it too and exported, and are files that i've worked yesterday in the middle of the afternoon not at the end. I've worked on a lot of other files... Didn't force quit anything. So if you wan't to told me any command line or so to run when this is happening please let me know.

Export Issue on Affinity Designer 1.7.0
in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Posted
Lot of crashes this morning because i've had the need to export a lot of files from different works. I've had crashes with pdf, png, jpgs and svgs. I've had one of them that the export dialog appear as normal and go through the end and when i've searched for him in the folder it wasn't there and when i've exported to the same folder, crash. I've had crashes saving to a NAS folder but have had saving to the desktop too... That was not occuring in the last .14 beta.
