If you're using V1, and you're on Sonoma, then you have the problem described in that other topic, and there's no workaround other than using drag/drop as mentioned in that topic:

R C-R reacted to William Overington in A localizable version of each of the Affinity programs such that the localization of the menus is using an external localization file
A suggestion for there being a localizable version of each of the Affinity programs such that the localization of the menus is using an external localization file.
This would be a substantial task to implement, but could potentially have substantial benefits.
In an Affinity program there are menus, for example with words in English.
My suggestion is that each string literal, such as File is replaced in the localizable version of that Affinity program by an element of a string variable array.
It is important that the string array can handle Unicode characters so as to provide for the greatest possible number of localized versions being possible, please ensure that 8-bit characters are NOT used. Please do NOT use UTF-8, please use UTF-16.
Bearing in mind that I have not programmed for many years, this may not be expressed in the source code of the programming language that is being used  for Affinity programs, but hopefully my meaning will get through to your programmers.
Suppose that the string literal "File" is replaced by an element of a string array, say, afmenu[1] and that afmenu[1] has a default value of "File".
At start up the program looks for a UTF-16 text file aflist.dat and, if it finds such a file, populates the afmenu array as much as it can from the aflist.dat file. Thus the afmenu array has text in each of its elements, none, some, or all of the afmenu items having text in English and the rest of the afmenu items having the text in the language of the particular aflist.dat file that was used. So for example, there could be an aflist.dat file in Estonian, an aflist.dat file in Welsh, and so on, and the end user could choose which aflist.dat file to use. There are commercial translation facilities that could translate and localize a copy of the English aflist.dat file into another language.
The aflist.dat file could use the same format as the sentence.dat file specified in a document available from my webspace.
    http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/localizable_sentences_research.htm
    The file is as follows.
    http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~ngo/The_Format_of_the_sentence_dot_dat_files_for_use_in_Research_on_Communication_through_the_Language_Barrier_using_encoded_Localizable_Sentences.pdf
There are issues that a font with glyphs for the characters used in the language into which localization is made will be needed and there will be issues for the rendering of some languages.
This would be a quite large project to implement but the potential benefits of implementation could also be large too.

There is no way to answer the questions about what will happen in the future other than to wait & see, or as @SallijaneG just wrote, time will tell.
Where did you see Canva say that? AFAIK, they never have claimed they are targeting Adobe or any other company in particular, just trying to improve their share of the graphics software market.

What do you think that or anything else in your last post has to do with Canva? Why are you cluttering up this topic with drivel like this?
Please try to confine your posts here to things that relate to Canva & its purchase of Affinity!

If you want that, make a Feature Request, or add on to an existing one with information on how it would benefit your work.
Mentioning it here will have no effect on the development of the programs.

Surely you must understand that there can be no reliable way to get numbers for anything like that. Most pros do not, nor would they have any reason to, explain what apps they use for any particular project.

Years ago I stopped watching TV and films put out by the controlled media of Hollywood and governments and their agencies because I no longer want to be brainwashed by them. This has given me a lot of extra time to be able to THINK and not strangled by wall-to-wall TV, sports and entertainment!
When you start thinking again that's when you see just exactly what kind world you are living in!

FWIW, the figures I have seen are more like 100 million current users, many of them working for non-profits or in various departments of mid to large sized corporations.
As for making money, I suspect part of it is they are playing the long game with things like offering the Affinity suite free to schools & non-profits, hoping that as people become more familiar with it they will want to buy their own copies for use outside those environments.
As with so much else about this, time will tell.

I can export a file to DXF and open a DXF file in Silhouette Studio (SS) and have the objects show. I apply a 0.1 stroke to all objects. On the export panel I choose the preset DXF - Preserve Vectors and I leave all settings as is.
Maybe upload the SVG file to see if we can get it into SS.
Used a free SVG from https://tarareed.com/craft-vault/ " Adventure awaits, if I open the SVG and export to DXF, because the shapes do not have a stroke, when I open the DXF in SS nothing shows, but if I apply a small stroke to all of the objects I can see the objects, so I think adding a stroke is the key here.

Yes, please consider this because it will reduce the amount of scrolling needed to see all of your posts. For me, it is annoying enough to have to do that that I often just skip to the next topic.

If you mean the folder "originals" in the Photos Library.photoslibrary package, I would not do that because (I think) if you made any changes to it in AP & saved it, that would replace the original with the modified version in the library, which could cause problems with the Photos database.
Anyway, Apple advises not to make any changes directly in the *.photoslibrary package because of that possibility.

No. You can draw a pixel selection marquee on the screen, but it is not associated with any specific layer and is not the pixels themselves. It's just an area of the screen, which can contain pixels if a pixel layer is currently active. But if a vector layer is active, for example, then it's just a marquee that doesn't contain anything.
And an Image layer is, in a way, a kind of vector layer.
When you don't have a pixel layer active, and you do Edit > Copy, you get a copy of the complete layer even if you have a pixel selection marquee active. There's no need to warn you, because Edit > Copy is simply context-sensitive, and functions depending on the context.

Canva has bunches of TV ads. I'm sure they had marketing plans in the works a long time prior to finalizing the Serif deal.

When you color one of the letters, there's no underline or tooltip. I think you can Edit a color in after posting, but if you put the color in before it is recognized and gets the underline it won't be added. So, in your post I just quoted, neither has the underline or tooltip.

The only reason I mentioned it was because I have never seen a commercial for Canva on any other streaming service besides in Prime Video, nor on any broadcast or cable TV networks. So I am a bit curious about if this is the start of trying to reach a broader viewing audience or what.
The comment about Affinity was just in case anybody wanted to know if it was mentioned.

I am running Catalina so it may be different with other OS versions but I do get a message telling me that the file has been imported at a lower resolution & to use the full resolution version I should export the file to disk. The message goes away after a few seconds so it is easy to miss, but if I click on it while it is visible I am taken back to an Export dialog in Apple Photos.app so I can either cancel or export it & from there.
I think it would be better if the message did not automatically disappear & had OK & Export from Photos buttons instead.

Ya know, I use Publisher daily. It's got great features not found in InDesign that allows me to get work done faster, better and more efficiently.

Would I recommend for other pros to use? YES! The suite has many cool great features that help artists to get work done.

Would I recommend for other pros to leave Creative Suite for it now? No. It's not yet mature enough to handle the myriad of tasks that are required for graphic arts (print in my case).

I think we are all here because we care about the whole environment of Serif/Affinity, and I think you are wholesale selling the whole community as unserious is quite fitting. Perhaps you are the one who is missing out on what drives this community, and in part it's not what drives other communities.

So @Bit Disappointed what makes the suite not professional to you? Also what are the features and things you really dig?

By the way: you seem to be using AP as the abbreviation for two applications (Photo, and Publisher). That is confusing
If one must abbreviate, APub and APu are the terms accepted by the forums (as shown by the underlining when used, and the Tooltip explanations for them).
