    Well I purchased the entire Effinity Suite anyway as it seem very nifty to use and the main reason it's not a subscription
    But my request remain and I find it pretty hard to understand why it is not possible to at least override the default RAW setting to a new desired one. That would actually do the job, but I'm no dev guy so this is just a thought... to go into the backend and override the default RAW setting might be a trick but still I don't know so I am still trembling in the dark here.
    This is for many of us a go or no go whether to migrate totally frpm Adobe PS to AP so it must be a very tricky task for the dev gus to accomplish. Sorry just speculations from my side. Still hoping...

    This is something I would love to have as well. Process one raw .CR2, select a half a dozen (or a hundred) .CR2s and apply the same presets to them in a batch.

    Beta releases are usually ‘feature complete’, or very nearly so, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are fully functioning!

    I have made 10 free tone mapping presets. I have not seen any tone mapping presets for affinity photo so I made some for anybody who might want them. Of course they will not all work with every photo like all presets but I hope someone finds them useful : ) To upload them just click on the zip. file, then in the tone mapping persona on the presets menu; click "Import Presets", Enjoy!
    Thanks!

    And at $200 then only 1/4 the copies? That math doesn't work in the real world as with each price jump you lose part of your market. Also there are benefits to having a large user base which itself will generate interest and demand. Too many companies have gone the greed route and as they start failing, they cannot figure out where they wentwrong

    Then you may (or may not) be disappointed depending on the features you use. As has been said before, there is not a 1-to-1 feature match with the software that had 100+ man years development in it. Note: Because we are starting from scratch, then straight out of the box it will also be able to do some things PagePlus never could.

    Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.
    It's not ready yet, sorry. We are still adding features that users will expect to be included, even in a beta.

    tomekf248 reacted to GarryP in Universal Windows Platform Assets and Store Templates
    I've attached two AD files containing templates:
    [1] for creating icon/tile assets for a UWP app (if you can't use the Asset Generator of Visual Studio 2017);
    [2] for creating Microsoft Store art.
    Even if you use the Asset Generator you can still use the templates to see how your icon will look in various tile sizes/shapes.
    (The attached image is just there so you can see what you get with the first set of templates.)
    Basic instructions for each set of templates are included in the AD files themselves.
    Both sets of templates were used for my own - very simple - little app...
    * on the web: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/pipagen/9p44qw5l4vm8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
    * in the store: ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9P44QW5L4VM8
    ...so I know they work (at least as far as I've been able to see in normal usage).
    Neither set of templates is comprehensive but they give you the basics for most general projects.

    Thought I'd give you a glimpse of some of the features that will be coming in 1.7.

    Please note - this thread is only for discussing the features detailed here.  Postings related to other feature requests should be posted on their own thread (else they will get deleted from this thread).

    We have spent considerable time overhauling the internals of some of our main tools.  It's been a labour of love, but it's going to open up greater possibilities for our core tool set.

    The core tools are:
    - Move tool
    - Pen tool
    - Node tool
    - Shape creation tools
    - Text tools
    - Fill and Transparency tools
    - Place Image tool
    - Vector Crop tool

    So, what improvements can be expected?

    - Advanced grid editing on spread (move the grid origin and edit it's axis with a handy new widget, with full snapping of course)
    - Guides can be created and moved in all the core tools, plus a toggle to turn guide editing off
    - Move the artboard ruler origin (with editing toggle)
    - Create objects and shapes into an arbitrary grid
    - Rotate and flip objects in grid planes (great for people working in isometric), plus an option to rotate shapes in plane using the Move tool
    - The Move tool will now allow you to cycle though selection boxes, including regular boxes and grid plane aligned boxes
    - Snapping performance improvements

    Affinity should publish announcements ( or pre-announcements) without comments to allow users to have clear information, without having to read pages of comments (which are often not relevant)

    tomekf248 reacted to The Bearded Bird in Subscribing to Assets
    It would be awesome if a assets list could be made public and people could subscribe to a list. So if someone/affinity team made a list of current icons in material design, or something else that may change. The update would happen live on everyones list as soon at the owner of the list updated it :)

    So to clarify, I don't want to just export the current list in my assets and share on some random site. I want the update to happen live on all the machines that subscribe to the list.

    Here is a collection of assets created from the material design sticker sheet obtained here: https://material.google.com/resources/sticker-sheets-icons.html

    Could use a little more work, but I've added constraints to the lists, UI bars, and tabs. Most of the shadows are currently bitmaps. I had issues with some text boxes becoming the wrong size when the group was turned into an asset, so artistic text is used in some places where a text frame would be more appropriate.

    I couldn't find a license anywhere for the sticker sheet, so feel free to modify and share or use however you want, however, please don't redistribute as an asset pack while charging a price (sharing for free is fine).

    If you want to share any changes/improvements, I'd appreciate it if you posted them to this thread.

    An example I quickly made with some of the assets is below.

    tomekf248 reacted to deceptive in Can you provide some google material design layout template/shadow/elevation value
    I needed the same thing for web mockups, decided to tackle it for myself. The problem between Affinity Designer vs. those tools is that those allow for multiple shadows to be layered onto each other on a single layer, whereas Designer only allows for one outer shadow on each layer.

    I was able to approximate most of the elevation shadows, though a few were too close to others to worry about much (1dp and 2dp for example), seeing as I made this for mock-ups anyway I didn't think that'd be a big problem. They're definitely not the most accurate but can be good for getting a concept out

    I would like to see this too. I've just switched to a different user account on the same computer, and although I can run the Affinity apps without having to reinstall them (because they're installed per machine rather than per user) I can't see my assets, brushes, etc.

    Adobe Photoshop can be used for simple animations. Serif’s own PhotoPlus and DrawPlus also offer animation features, and the latter even includes keyframe animation. I agree that you need a specialized tool for anything remotely sophisticated, but I don’t think that’s what other contributors to this thread are suggesting.

    This is the application I came to Affinity for, honestly. I've dropped money on existing products as a commitment to buying-in to the Affinity ecosystem, and I've been pretty happy with Designer.

    That said, I'm all about this product being worth the wait vs being available right this second. Take your time. Get it right. ..no pressure.

    As @Alfred has explained, your employer would need to purchase Affinity so you could use it on the work PC.
