  1. I read the topic. That's good to know that it's possible; perhaps just not implemented yet. Thank you. I realized if I click each character through the Layers panel and then resize them with "Scale with object" checked off, Molly's hair (cropped) does not disappear. However, the clipped objects (the eyes) still do not update. Edit: Text on path does not update either.
  2. I'll add that you can replace Ctrl Y with a Redo functionality. Open up your preferences, and go into Keyboard Shortcuts. Where it says "File," select "Edit" and change your key command for the Redo functionality. Just keep in mind, I'm catching a bug in which redoing won't always work.
  3. Same here. I don't mind the dark interface. I think it works for the type of program it is. It's just the indicators I don't like. I would rather any selected buttons be highlighted in blue instead of black. The same as Alfred said, I have to tilt my monitor to see what's selected. Aside from that, I do like the dark interface (for "this" program).
  4. The live booleans are like pathfinders, right? What do you mean by this with symbols?
  5. This is what's on the roadmap for 1.6. The feature you are looking for is not listed, but a staff member did say that there will be additional features other than the ones listed. Perhaps you should bring this up in the Feature Requests section. All feedback is reviewed, but it will be easier for staff to backtrack what people are looking for in that section. It might be forgotten here since this topic is for beta testing purposes. I hope things work out!
  6. If you prefer not to use the bezier handles, you can also use the node tool on the actual line. There are some cases in which in it can be more accurate; for me anyway.
  7. Another brilliant portrait. Very detailed and beautiful.
  8. Maybe I'll experiment with elliptical then since I'm familiar with the other two. Conical seems confusing.
  9. Very interesting indeed. I need to experiment more with other gradients. Illustrator only had linear and radial whereas Designer and DrawPlus has more. I was wondering how Ken's colors flowed smoothly like that. I keep forgetting about the other gradients. It's great to know how much can be accomplished.
  10. The font list will jump depending on the first letter you type, but you cannot type a full name and select it with just the keyboard.
  11. Since this happened, it sounds like the problem is unrelated to the Affinity Designer beta because you are facing issues with other programs as well. There might be something else going on causing your computer to be affective. You may want to check in with the Super User forums who address Windows related problems. They are very knowledgeable. I will point out that the newer versions of Windows easily gets "ransomware." (I'm not allowed to edit or view some of my image files in Windows 8 or 10.)
  12. By the way, there is a website in which people pay to have their photo turned into a cartoon. If you do this frequently, maybe you could start up your own service and draw people as cartoons. https://www.fiverr.com/categories/graphics-design/create-cartoon-caricatures#filter=rating&page=1
  13. You certainly have a great feel for vector drawing. I really like the multicolored skin and how it flows. Designer is such a handy tool, isn't it?
  14. I just double checked. Pages is on the roadmap for Designer 1.6. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/842-affinity-designer-feature-roadmap/
  15. Very weird. As for Molly's "front hair," I deleted the mask and made a new one. Now when I resize the characters, the hair does not disappear. I guess those glitches come randomly.
  16. You're welcome. Ah that's frustrating.
  17. Hey Alfred, It's been a little while. I just found this topic now. Those are some very slick designs you've got there. You must be pretty familiar with the snapping options. Looking at that last one, it must've been difficult. Imagine a labyrinth of a bunch of stair cases overlapping each other. Oh boy.
  18. You're talking about 3D planes. Well it may not be the same way as in that example, but there is a work around to make something like this at least. Video 1 Video 2 Video 3 I'm sorry to say there is no automated way.
  19. I'm interested to see what features will come exclusive to Publisher that are not in Photo or Designer. I haven't used Photo, but I recall many of those features being in Designer.
  20. It's whatever you are more comfortable with. Designer was made for top notch vector editing, but I know many people who benefit more with pixel tools and still use some support for vector editing. I just wanted to share something I learned about vectors to vexels. If you hadn't told me, I would've thought you used Designer for those images. The program is personal preference. To answer your second question, no. Designer and Photo are compatible with many file formats, but it is recommended to use the same file theme. Inkscape files for example are vector formats, so they should be brought into vector programs. if you bring them into Photo, the quality (although will still look very smooth) will be rasterized, changing the quality and making it harder to edit. You can still bring them in and edit them, but hold on to the originals. You're welcome.
  21. I need to attach my file somewhere else. No matter how much I shrink it, the MB are not going down by much at all. So I will attach the original. Just be warned, it's 100MB. http://www.filedropper.com/angiecast Select all of the characters at once while "Scale with object" is checked off. The stroke on several of the characters' eyes will not update; which are clipped objects. As for my cropping problem, Molly's hair disappears. The "Front Hair" object was cropped to make a part of her hair look unclosed.
  22. In the Layers panel is an "FX" icon. Click on it, and in the Effects window, one of the options will make things look more 3D. That simple.
  23. The designs look very interesting (not lame like the second one implies). I think they look neat. ^_^ Actually, that is because in bitmap applications, they are considered vexels. They are only called vectors to avoid confusion. Not that we can tell from your art since it's high resolution.
  24. Hello, P@trick, First, rasterize the image in the Layers menu so it is a pixel object. Now open up the pixel persona and take out the selection brush tool. With "Snapped to edges" checked off, brush over the white area. Before deleting it, click on the "Refine Edges" button. Once you find the setting you like, then delete the white area. FYI, the transparency tool is something entirely different.
