View - Reset Rotation should do the trick.
If you want to turn it off, go to Preferences - Tools - Enable canvas rotation with trackpad and uncheck it.

You may need to go to Window - Adjustment and import and categorise via the cogwheel in the LUT area there:

The LUT Adjustment in the Layers Panel doesn't offer any options to import or export new LUTs.
ADD:  if that doesn't work, go to File-New, click the Account button and download and install from there.

    Helpful hints here.

In Affinity Publisher v1, Font Manager is indeed in the Document menu:

But in Affinity Publisher v2, Font Manager is in the Window menu:

This is from the v2 help file:

Sounds like you're reading instructions for Affinity Publisher v1 and applying them to Affinity Publisher (or Designer?) v2.

Doesn't play any role here for clipping, thus doesn't need to have an empty fll at all!

I don't have an answer, just some observations.
When you create a new Adjustment Layer you get this:

If you then invert it, you get this:

If you invert the Adjustment Layer a second time, you get this:

This arrangement is only temporary, though - as soon as you make any change to settings in the Layers panel (eg Opacity or Blend Mode), the white thumbnail disappears and the Adjustment Layer reverts to its original state.
What @CogPsyence has seems similar to my third screen grab (no nesting indicator, the Adjustment icon to the left of the Layer thumbnail), but with an apparently permanent, transparent  thumbnail. I don't think there's an additional pixel layer, just a mask.
Which doesn't make a lot of sense, as an adjustment mask should range between white and black. I've tried quite a few ways of making the thumbnail/adjustment layer transparent, without any success.
It may well be a bug, but I'm not sure if it's readily repeatable. Perhaps the easiest solution for @CogPsyence would be to delete the original adjustment layer and try again. (Or alternatively upload the .afphoto file to the Forum so others can investigate more fully.)

*Laugh*  I just finished doing exactly that. 😄  In trying to search the archives, I saw mention of someone trying to use affine to make seamless images and it looked like what I had been doing with GIMP so I tried it out and it was a definite improvement.
Affine was a bit finnicky at first - I had to restart my program (the Wrap extend mode wasn't working) and it tried affining the original image and not what I thought I had cropped it down to, but by making a fresh save I got it to work just as you described.  Thanks.

h_d got a reaction from walt.farrell in Hardness function in Brush
I'm pretty sure you're right. I just dipped back into V1 and with a couple of exceptions only the Basic brushes are affected by changes to hardness. In the brush editor, the Hardness slider moves, but its 'track' is blank (all the changeable settings below have a blue 'track'):

Changing the Hardness has no effect on the appearance of brush strokes in the document.

In V2, editing the same brush, the slider is immoveable at 100% and its button (and that of other non-changeable settings) is greyed out:

This to me seems a better approach.

h_d got a reaction from NotMyFault in Sine tool
If you're on macOS you can use the default-installed Grapher application to create a sine wave graph (and much more complicated stuff) and export it as an image (tiff/eps/pdf/jpg). You can then place the exported file in whichever Affinity application you choose.
I may be wrong but I suspect it's unlikely that Serif will develop or introduce this sort of functionality any time soon - their emphasis is on graphic design, image manipulation and desktop publishing.
But as @R C-R points out, it might be worth posting in the Feedback and Suggestions section of this forum.

But it should also be doable in AppleScript instead this way then ...

Even a good question, I can answer that at least for my Python script solution here. - Nothing will happen, since the image already does meat the final requirements then. - Also when I reprocess all the images, I've once before already processed to be altered accordingly, they won't change anymore here as they do already meet the final requirements.
That doesn't matter here, due to the always rounding up to the next hundreds, see also my above last image example in the shown test run ...
    --> img-vert-3333.jpg  = w x h = 2561 x 3333 px  ... will get ... = 3400 x 3400 px
... therefore you always end up with an even number of pixels!
    ... def roundup(x): x -= x % -100 return x def pad_image_to_quare_size(image): ... width, height = image.size ... width_max = roundup(width) height_max = roundup(height) ... ... img_padded = Image.new(image.mode, (width_max, height_max), (0, 0, 255)) img_padded.paste(image, (pad_left, pad_top)) return img_padded ...

    Hi @Holy Pochi and welcome!
In the Apple App Store, go to the Store menu and choose Account:

You'll then see a list of all your purchases, including any of the Version 1 Affinity apps that you bought from the App Store.
There should be download link (as below) next to the ones you don't have installed.

    Click to download...

h_d   thank you for your post.    I did not in any way expect AP to unpick the complexity of the layout  -  I did that by hand in html editor.  All I wanted from AP was a way to flow the text in a PDF, which it is perfectly capable of as long as the pages are inked manually and individually.
    So
I was not expecting miracles I was hoping it would simply do what it is patently capable of doing.
However, I have found a solution to my problem which does not involve traveling via PDF.

I apologise if you feel that asking for help was a waste of your time

Following on from my previous rather flippant remark.
I would just repeat, in all seriousness, that you should not be embarking on this work unless you are being properly paid for it and unless you have the skills and knowledge to accomplish it. If you don't, then I hope you have the strength to tell whoever asked you to do it that you will need more help/training/support.
You should not expect Affinity Publisher to offer an immediate solution. First and foremost it is not a pdf editor or a data management tool. But it goes deeper than that.
As far as I can see you are being expected to unpick someone else's laborious work and to recast it into another format.
In my opinion you should first be looking at ways of extracting, categorising and structuring the original information into a database or a format like .xml.
Once you have control of the structured data, then you can present it in any number of ways. Affinity Publisher may be helpful then.
But what you cannot do is take .pdfs, or Word docs, or any sort of pre-formatted text of this complexity, and expect Publisher to sort it out for you.
    It can not.
Publisher is a desktop publishing application. It is a page layout tool, not a data management tool.
Again, and with all respect, control the data before you start on the presentation.

I'm going to undo as much as I can (edit - undo) and try again.  If necessary I'll get a fresh copy of the CR2 file and edit it like the example.  And keep my fingers crossed.
I've tried unlocking and manually calculating the new frame size and entering that in the boxes, and I've even tried leaving it locked and entering a calculated figure in the first box.  Often, the first method works to a degree but might be a little off centre.  Sufficent for facebook etc., but not for a club competition.
I'll try entering the sizes in both boxes as per h_d's suggestion and let you know how I get on.  If anyone has something to add to the mix please do.
P.S., Whatever was wrong with the padlock in V1, much easier to see.  I'd never cottoned on to it being a broken chain link.
