  1. Thanks. I think this is what I was looking for. However The problem is the page numbers are in the PDF generated by the publishing house so not created by Affinity Publisher. I can however add my own page number in a master page, apply that master to the book and run the index using those identical numbers! Thanks again. Paul
  2. Hi, I am creating an index (using publisher v2 on an iMac m2 mini) and the book has 10 pages prior to the start if the book, numbered i, ii, iii etc. I have created index entries on page 1 of the book , page number 1, but it appears in the index as Page 13. The book is a PDF proof from a publisher. Can I reset the index page number starting point anywhere in the software, or do I need to do a bit of section breaking and editing? I guess I can just delete the first 10 pages and create the index and copy it out, but it's a bit clumsy! Thanks if you can help.
  3. Thanks, I don't think I got a password for it, I did for the Mac version. But as answered in a later reply, I think Microsoft knows I bought it so will not ask for payment. I hope!
  4. Hi, I download AP originally from the Microsoft store. If I completely uninstall AP can I re-download without having to pay again? Background to the issue. I have a Windows 10 machine that was working well with the 1.8n version of AP but now that I have the 1.9n version, I have real problems with curves adjustment and blend range curve adjustment. I reported this a few months ago in beta phase but no one was able to repeat the issue. When I create a node I cannot slowly move them, sometimes I can if I move the mouse or pen quickly, which is really very annoying, obviously. I can get assets and macros again, but what I really want is for AP to work. If graphics acceleration is on or off it makes no difference. I may uninstall the Wacom Tablet first, but my PC is used almost exclusively for photo work so cannot imagine what is causing this problem.
  5. The pen works fine it's when I use the mouse to drag the nodes it usually fails. Actually I have discovered that if when I try and move a node and it does not move, if I keep the node selected and snap drag the mouse quickly, the node will move. Also today the problem is less of a problem for some reason!
  6. Thanks for the feedback Ron. I know a couple of folks have had this but it's clearly not widespread! I have loads of Macros and stuff I would rather not reload (as in find again), but I suspect re-install, back version or start up with control(?) pressed to reset defaults may be the only workable solution in the meantime. It's such a weird problem, and very frustrating because it used to work perfectly.
  7. Are you using the latest release version? Yes Can you reproduce it? Yes Does it happen for a new document? Yes Windows 10 fully updated Intel i7 8700K, Gigabyte H370 HD3 board and Intel 660P 1Tb SSD. main storage. No GPU installed. Create two shapes or place two images on a canvas. With a mouse, select the blend range cog and in the underlying composition range pull down the left node. Let go of the node, reselect the node and drag it right. It wont move usually. You can move the node with arrow keys though. Reselect the node and quickly drag it right and it might move. You can create a node and it also refuses to move nearly every time. This exact same problem also occurs with the curves filter. The nodes move if a tablet and pen are used in place of the mouse, which may be pertinent to fault diagnosis. I have a blue tooth tablet This problem only occurred since the latest round of updates.
  8. The ability to adjust the range slider behaves oddly. I create a node and just cannot move it UNLESS i click and drag it VERY quickly, even then it does not always work. Graphics acceleration is turned off due to other issues reported by others.
  9. Hi, Thanks for the reply, I do hope at least some recommendations of the model ranges at least are published when AP Beta goes live because GPU's are not cheap! I'll keep putting money in the jar and wait until my update comes through!
  10. Hi, Please delete this if I am out of order here. Is there anywhere I can get pointers to how graphics cards compare when used in photo manipulations and not gaming. I want to get a card when this beta version goes live but it seems to be an information desert out there! Thanks for reading.
  11. Good news. Time to dust off the moths from my wallet then! Anyone have a graphics card recommendation or minimum spec to be considered (other than DirectX version)?
  12. Hi, I have had Affinity Photo on my iMac since it was released. I have built a Windows desktop and would like to buy Affinity Photo for my new machine too. My concern is that Affinity photo has been at version 1.x for some time and if version 2.x is rebased soon after buying this 1.x version I would possibly have to buy it again since it would be a new version, not bug fix and feature upgrade. Am I being unduly worried do you think? It's not expensive as a one off but to have to buy it twice would be unfortunate!! Also does anyone recommend a graphics card that would really speed up the image processing? The machine is not for gaming, so I don't want to get something that's not going to be used properly. Thanks for reading.
