missing resources warning
carl123 replied to pdh's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
1. Move/copy them back 2. Move/copy them back, change to embedded in Resource Manager, save document, then you can delete them 3. Re-establish the links to the files' new locations - either when opening the document or via the Resource Manager -
Fill text with mage

Scroll back and read "Lee D's" post from 2 hours ago where he showed you what to do. For anyone else trying this you need to download the "From Street Art" font. It's a bit different -

It also crashes in the latest 1.7 beta So, for now, you can select the layer called Full Group Then Layer > Merge Visable Apply the gradient to the new merged Pixel layer

How to run a spell check
carl123 replied to ConnectCreative's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
Hi Walt Text > Spelling > Check Spelling simply finds the next misspelled word which you can right click to Ignore it or Learn it What happens if you use the main spell checker command Text > Spelling > Show Spelling Options on a new document that has a couple of spelling errors on a master page. Do the options Ignore or Learn work as expected for you there? -
How to run a spell check
carl123 replied to ConnectCreative's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
I'm getting some inconsistent results which may be due to some perceived "misspelled" words being on a Master Page (like the email address) I'll need to spend a little time figuring out how APub deals with misspelled words on a Master Page so I've logged this thread to have another look when I have more time & coffee. Hopefully a dev/support or someone else can figure it out for you before then -
How to run a spell check
carl123 replied to ConnectCreative's topic in Feedback for Affinity Publisher V1 on Desktop
Seems OK for me with email addresses I'm using English language in Apub, are you? If yes, can you upload a simple APub document with a passage of text that shows the problems you are having -
4. You can sometimes do that by adding 1 effect, then grouping the layer on its own and adding another effect to the group. 7. Already available in next release (v1.7) currently in Beta 8. If you mean Isolation Mode, that should work. Make sure Document > Transparent Background is ticked

default mode?
carl123 replied to GazzaGMan's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Is screenshot 2 separated mode on a Mac? -
Not sure, it's certainly unexpected Normally if you manually rasterise an image layer with an effect, you will be asked what to do with the effect but it will always be preserved. The automatic rasterisation of the layer when you add the Unsharp Mask seems to just ignore (some not all) effects applied and removes them. Since it's definitely not consistent in what effects it removes or what you wanted to happen I would consider it to be a bug. The easiest way around the problem is just to... 1. Rasterise the image layer before applying any effects 2. Or use the Live Unsharp Mask filter which does not produce this issue. Since not all filters will have an equivalent Live filter, option 1 is probably the safest choice

text tab vs. table tab
carl123 replied to thomaso's topic in [ARCHIVE] Publisher beta on macOS threads
Ok, this is what I get. I think this may be due to a difference between MAC and Windows. On Windows I do not see the single > character in my tables -

I'm not seeing any single > characters I'm not seeing that either. Do you have screenshots of this? -
Another simple technique 1. Add pixel layer with blend mode Darken 2. Paint with red brush Depending on your painting abilities you might want to first make a selection of the areas to paint using the Freehand Selection Tool or other selection methods. Image supplied just to show the results, not all areas that should be repainted have been
